    Removing rusted wood screws

    Clean the slot. Good fitting screwdriver. Hit screwdriver with hammer and turn anti clockwise at same time - a primitive impact driver - but effective.

    Tragically the critters can sit in the wood for up to 5 years. Chemical attack is limited in its success as it doesn’t absorb into the wood by more than a millimetre or so. And I think that the surface tension of the liquid means it doesn’t go into the holes that the worm create. Best to...

    Most worm only attacks wood with moisture in it. Was the furniture damp or in a damp place? Dry it out and the infestation should/will disappear. No idea about the viability of the wood that’s left.
