Hi Guys Already got the firewire card in the PC and Sky+ for HDD recording. Can't be bothered fafing with the PC all of the time though, I rarely want to edit what I shoot, just dump it straight to DVD. Also I want to be able to easily archive from Sky+ to DVD. Cheers Alan

If you don't use your PC for faxing etc then there is little need to have a modem line connected with an active ADSL connection... Unless you do a lot of faxing I would avoid rogue dial-out issues by simply disconnecting the phone line and only connecting it if/when needed (much nicer than...

I've had some luck with this. I wet some small dents with a few drops of water, allowing the drops to soak into the compressed wood and then ironed them out. It took a couple of goes to completely remove the dents. I placed the hot iron directly on the wood. Cheers Alan

How much of this asbestos fear is based on fact these days and how much on paranoia? From what I understand it is more people who worked in mines breathing in tons of dust a day that were at risk from asbestosis etc. My family lived in an asbestos house for years and are all going strong...

I'm thinking of making a new handle for my 12" Tenon Saw. Does anyone know where I can get a reasonable template of something like the handle on the Lie-Nielsen saws to give me a starting place? A good sized "straight on" photo on the web would probably do but I haven't been able to find...
