Help required mounting a circular saw and router to y bench

I don’t have a table saw and I don’t have a router table. Cutting with the circular saw I find for the most part very cumbersome when trying to rip narrow pieces especially, and even my trusty mof97 router can be a pain and awkward to use when handheld. Having recently built myself a work...

Are the Elu flip saws any good?

I’d love to get a table saw (I do all my ripping by hand) but can’t afford a decent one. I don’t think Elu made any table saws but they did make a couple of flip saws, where the table rotates and you can use it as a chip saw or a table saw. They go for suspiciously cheap on eBay compared to...

Has anyone used Elu Planer thicknessers?

To add: I also keep seeing the Elu MMF81 hand held planer for sale for very cheap. These had attachments to turn it into a bench planer so you could use it upside down; and there was also a thicknesser attachment. Of course, the limitation is the width of the machine, though I'd be interested to...

Has anyone used Elu Planer thicknessers?

Yeah, they look like decent machines; certainly on my radar now! And yeah, I think I've used the 733 (they're the newer DeWalt's, right?) a year or so ago. It was incredibly loud! :D

Has anyone used Elu Planer thicknessers?

That's a great point. I remember people mentioning the rubber roller issue when I asked about that machine before. Many thanks!

Has anyone used Elu Planer thicknessers?

Makes sense. There's an Elektra Beckum HC260M on ebay at the moment for around this price but it doesn't have the "M" at the end of the name. What does the M stand? Many thanks for the reply!

Has anyone used Elu Planer thicknessers?

Interesting, had no idea this was the same as the Dewalt but I do know that's the case with a lot of later Elu models. Thanks for the info!

Has anyone used Elu Planer thicknessers?

I've been in the market for a planer thicknesser for a while now. My specification is good quality, performs both thicknessing and planing functions and is reasonably priced; which means essentially I'm after a second hand machine likely from the 90s. I barely have any money to put into...

Help me find a planer thicknesser

Hi everyone. I came to the realisation a while ago that a planer thicknesser would aid me a great deal. I started looking around and after some confussion between the differences between a planer, a thicknesser and a machine that does both, I learned of how much a decent machine would set me...

    Ideas for home made gift?

It’s become a thing now that every year for her birthday, I make my girlfriend something. Up until now it’s been mostly various types of personalised jewellery boxes and trinkets. I want to do something different this time but I don’t know what. Has anyone any ideas for something nice I can...

What colour/stain/wax should I use for this pine floor?

Here’s the floor: https://imgur.com/a/TjsGAvV With the colours of the walls, I’m worried about bringing out orange in the pine. Was thinking maybe some sort of oak stain/wax? Another alternative might be to white wash? Maybe paint? Dark stain? What do you think would work well? Cheers!

    Having trouble levelling these floorboards...

Thanks for showing your builder friend; I’ll certainly be going that route once I’ve investigated and I’ll use bolts for sure. I also had the Rockwool idea but I’ve already boarded two thirds of the floor before I realised. I could probably push the rockwool through underneath, but between some...

    Having trouble levelling these floorboards...

Okay, so I had a look for the very extensive documentation we have on the house but couldn’t put my hand where they’re filed. I’ll have a look again a bit later, but the gist of it is the house became an old people’s home in the 1970s sometime and then was changed to a private dwelling in 1995...

    Having trouble levelling these floorboards...

Not sure what you mean I’m afraid. As I say this is my first time laying a floor, so I’m not familiar with the concept of trimming joists, despite google imaging it. To offer some background info; the wall is a stud wall that sits over the floorboards. The original floor boards ran under the...

    Having trouble levelling these floorboards...

Thanks for the suggestions, I’ll certainly do it that way, then. Cheers for the tips with clamping the boards too, as I hadn’t been doing that.

    Having trouble levelling these floorboards...

Hi everyone, My problem: Anyway, as you can see from the pictures, there’s a significant in the area not yet boarded over. In fact, as you can also tell the last board I laid has some cupping, so that’ll need to be taken off so this issue can be sorted. It seems to cup in a V shaped...

What the heck is this doing under my floor boards?!

Can’t be an old doorway as that wall leads to the outside. And the plasterboard behind it was me :) all the walls are old lath and plaster. Looks like it’s definitly the reminants of an old fireplace. Never seen one in the corner of the rook before, though. Thanks for the comments :)
