    Velux Repair help

What is the size code? I have a set of slighly soiled ones coming out, in much better condition you’d be welcome to if they match. Sizes are all standard including old codes… they just match equivalent new codes..

    Rutlands Warning!

Being a noob I bought a few things from them. They tend to present as ‘premium’ to the beginner but as noted a lot of stuff is available elsewhere with different stickers and different prices. I’d imagine with worse CS, in some cases e.g. bought direct from overseas. Some things I bought were...

    Router bits sticking

Took me several bouts of pulling bits out with chunky gloves and replacing my ‘faulty’ collet with a new one before I figured that out 😂

    Valchromat Board

Nah, they were just fresh retail. I just emailed them at an address from their website and they sent me a quote. That said, the first board of the stack they trucked out to my van would have been a second as it had a corner chipped off, so they just gave me the next one on the stack. I also...

    Valchromat Board

I bought a full 8 by 4sheet of black valchromat in 19mm for a project in Jan 2022. Shopped around the NW, and James Latham was actually cheapest at £85+VAT (collection). That was the Leeds branch... sort of NW ish, or close enough for me anyway. Make sure your dust collection is on point...

    Temperature controlled kettle?

I got one of those fancy variable temp kettles years ago. I never use the lower temps for tea or for coffee (of any sort). With lower temps, in practice I find tea stews too slow and coffee doesn’t stay hot enough through any brewing process I use. I just try to boil the minimum I need.

Advice about Trend Router Table please.

So... I almost bought one from Uni-max, but the curse of Brexit resulted in P&P charges that were far greater than the cost of the collet! Instead I... did other things for some time. Then they appeared in stock, Ebay, Ffx, various other sites I had stock watches on.

Advice about Trend Router Table please.

That is annoying - the part exists (trc140) but is out of stock everywhere in the universe it seems…

Post a photo of the last thing you made

So... the last thing I made was I suppose the first thing I made.. or at least the first thing I cared about turning out properly and looking reasonably nice as a gift for the gf. Her eyes leaked briefly so either I didn't sand it, the plywood gave off fumes or she liked it. I dunno! GF: 'So...

    Hellooo from Calderdale

Hey All My name is Aaron, I'm a beginner and newbie to this for. I've been stalking the forum for a couple of weeks, seems like a friendly helpful sort of place! I've no real experience, just popped a few bits of wood together to make a bench to fix my bike parts on, then decided I enjoyed the...
