    Very sad news

I am happy for everyone to pour out their feelings of grief - but I object to every TV and Radio channel then broadcasting it. Did we really need simultaneous broadcasts across multiple channels? Why was no one allowed to listen or watch anything else? It seems BBC has had so many complaints...

Getting MFT top made. 96mm vs 100mm & Material

As no-one has mentioned it, this guy uses a 100mm spacing: - It seems he then uses spacers for his cutting.

    Another Joke

I am fed up with Bill Gates talking about vaccines and I am never going to listen to him or believe a thing he says ever again. Apparently I've got nerd immunity.

    Tool Batteries

I have a load of Blue Bosch 24V "O" battery tools. The genuine batteries are a mix of NiCd and NiMh - but are slowly dwindling in number. I can see fakes on Amazon and ebay - but can anyone recommend a company to repack the casings with new cells and do other repairs - or are such fakes the...

Time for a new Drill & Impact driver....what's your thoughts?

Maybe look at the Bob Forum to see what other issues folks are having - better than me just doing a C&P of their complaints.

Time for a new Drill & Impact driver....what's your thoughts?

"serious quality and supply issues" Well their 18v track saw is now on its third iteration to fix design and quality flaws. The older version I think was made by/with Mafell whereas the new ones are offshored. The spares - I am after dust extractor parts from China - (Suez blockage excepted)...

Time for a new Drill & Impact driver....what's your thoughts?

Until a year ago I would have recommended Blue Bosch. Now they seem to be suffering serious quality and supply issues. I am five months and counting on dust extractor parts. Others report 3 month delays on "free" extra battery offers. Luckily the quality their older drivers / drills means...

    Vaccine Passports (domestic).

Let's not forget Spanish flu in 1918-20 was worst for the young not the elderly.

    Database for tools

Another vote for LibreOffice here. I would add photos as well - esp of serial numbers - and then clearing it with the Insurance company before any claim. Also scans of receipts (password protected, of course :-)!)

What was your favorite sweets when you were a nipper

Another vote for white chocolate mice. Was banned from gob-stoppers after my cousin choked on one and nearly died.

    private charge notice

My father's Toyota has cameras to recognise speed limits and other electronic gizmos. I hope the technology improves significantly before it is linked to a speed limiter - I have travelled miles with the "you're speeding" indicator going because the camera either has spotted a sign on a...

    Trend T5 or Festool OF1010?

Agree with Festool - but does the 1010 have the ratchet - the other two do.

    Another Joke

A cabbie picks up a Nun. The cab driver stares at her. She asks him why he’s staring and he says “I’ve always had a fantasy to kiss a nun.” She says “I’ll kiss you if you’re single and Catholic.” The cab driver says “I’m both!” The nun says “Pull into an alley” The nun then kisses...

FFX 5% off Promo code 221FFX

A word of warning - the FFX web site can lose (possibly times out) a code applied to the shopping basket. And the website is not as sophisticated as Amazon when it comes to allowing manipulation of an order after purchase. I was caught yesterday. However, kudos to Rob in FFX customer service...

    More garbage from China

I suspect relative energy costs have also played their part as well as H&S. Whilst we build windmills and solar stations, China opens more new coal-fired power stations to burn cheap coal from Australia. The extra energy costs get passed on.

    More garbage from China

Until recently I would always try to buy British-made tools if I could. Then I ordered a set of Whitworth sockets from what I assumed was a major British manufacturer - and they were attrocious! It did not match web site description and it looked like it had been assembled from two or three...
