    Wanted Cheap but functional/quality router

Haha... I just googled Spindle Moulder. Lol... I think maybe I should just buy a good chisel and/or sharpening set and learn how to use them :)

Thanks BingyMan. Good info, most appreciated... So something like this Bosch blue in a good used condition off ebay would be decent for a beginner...

    Wanted Cheap but functional/quality router

I think the time has finally come to get a router. Maybe after logging into the forum one too many time but also cos I fancy making some proper grooves to slot the vertical pieces in as opposed to screwing and staggering them. Hapoy to take one if someone has an accurate one lying about that...

    Queen Elizabeth has passed away.

Interesting how you cite Palestine as one of the only successes cos of Israel. You do realise that eye witness reports (from both British and non-brits) prove it to be an apartheid state? Also, regards destabilised countries. You do know that it's the British way. To help destabilise other...

    Queen Elizabeth has passed away.

Since this thread has increasingly (which I appreciate was not intended by the original poster) become a bit of a slanging match (mainly at Phil which I find totally incorrect as there was nothing offensive in his supposedly offensive statement). I really think this clip from Novara Media...

    Queen Elizabeth has passed away.

Oh, wow... Didn't know that Phil. Thanks for sharing... Good way to keep the class system alive I guess and keep splashing our taxes on their Bentleys and Rolls. One thing I was particularly grieved about was (HRH) the Queen helping out the chap that was accused of (I'll not add any descriptor...

    Mafell P1cc buying advice

Yup, will definitely be using the tilt base straight away and the Makita before it did many angled cuts with that function. The 0.8m rail might prove to be overkill as my first few cuts on the 200mm width joist to get it down to 150mm might prove difficult having the base overlaid on it... £70...

    Mafell P1cc buying advice

https://www.thesawcentre.co.uk/mafell-p1cc-precision-jigsaw-kit-with-tilting-base-and-800mm-rail.html After much contemplation (not really, figure of speech.. but I did discuss it appropriately) and waiting til payday, I finally bought the above kit. On 3 months interest free finance so only...

    Outhouse Project

Thanks @MARK.B. as I'd hoped to keep this thread updated one step at a time (measure twice and cut once and all that) so could hopefully keep getting updated. Yes, I'd already planned on using packers. Will make many before I start. Might have to chip away the brick work by a few mm still as it...

    Outhouse Project

Right then... Thankfully managed to grab myself a lovely (wrong size for original owner) Eurocell door in the exact width as my opening. Am hoping it'll be plain sailing from here. But watch this space. Then can get on with sorting out some more shelves and arranging the space in there...

    Queen Elizabeth has passed away.

The funniest thing yesterday (the radio was on) when the BBC reporter couldn't find a tweet in yhe immediate feed so pulled one out from Modi (the PM of India). As if the BBC of all people don't know that Modi is in the middle of an ethnic cleansing programme and the genocide has been going on...

Nail gun advice for a newbie

I recently watched the 'making a portable workbench' by Scott Brown Carpentry on YT. One of the comments from a follower was explaining to him how he should've used the gun at a slight angle. Quite detailed of which I didn't pay attention but he was appreciative of the advice...

What ideas have you had for reducing Electricity consumption

Aftwr this thread and some calculations it seemed (if I got them right) there's at least £50 saving to be had with going to the 20w led tube light for the kitchen. That's from the 58w Osram already installed. If it helps, I got the plug and play tube from Philips/Screwfix. Still showing as an...

    FTAGH Festool Systainer

Problem here @johnbest981 is when you've not organised things properly in the first place. I was diagnosed with organisational difficulties at uni and our dyslexia type teacher (lesson similar to what you'd have to help people arrange things and dyslexics - which is what my overall diagnosis...

What ideas have you had for reducing Electricity consumption

Thats kinda right Phil. As far as I've read in my construction book, If it's gonna have footfall up there (though it'll be mainly storage but overengineered if you see what I mean) and habitable then the best way is to insulate the roof space and across the partition/sides. But leave the ceiling...

    Portable/folding workbench suggestions?

Hi all and thanks (again). I've a few YT vids about making my own. But even the simplest design appears to be too involved for me and would need extra investment in tools to get it right. Plus it would end up using up the wood I've already saved for my projects. The Mafell JS is hopefully...

What ideas have you had for reducing Electricity consumption

We've swapped all the bulbs already and the missus is constantly calling out the kids (and husband) to enaure to turn lights off asap. We're also hoping to wear more layers indoors during winter to have the heating on a lot less and usually. Another big one is energy escaping and if that can be...

https://www.thesawcentre.co.uk/mafell-p1cc-precision-jigsaw-kit-with-tilting-base-and-800mm-rail.html This comes with the standard accesories (there's alot lot more than a standard JS sold these days) but also the long length of 0.8m guide plate aswell as the tilting base. Though a standard...
