The Rolls Royce of Jigsaws? Mafell P1cc

The Rolls Royce of Jigsaws? Mafell P1cc

Thanks @fleyh ... The answer is probably multi-facrorial. A few reasons I supposr... After seeing some mechanical slack (or thinking I'd seen it) in the Makita which was probably me having tried to use it in hardwood. That was after it (the Makita) being away for a week or so with my dad. He...

The Rolls Royce of Jigsaws? Mafell P1cc

Oh (the Imminent Festools Purchase just rrminded me), thw dust extraction seems smart. It comes with a head to connect to an extractor of sorts (adapted vaccum head!?) at the rear of the standard base. But also has a non vaccum piece that points down so the dust is blown back and down (in...

The Rolls Royce of Jigsaws? Mafell P1cc

Thought I'd start a little thread about this big thing. Notice how I've not said beauty as you'd expect something being called 'quite simply, the best JS in the world', to be near enough perfect. Not that I believe humans can create perfection, but still there's certain little things that stood...

Cheapest wood to groove with a router?

2.7m lengths of which they gave me an extra 30cm free on two of em (gave 3m instead of the 2.7). £90 inc VAT so not too bad I guess for some decwny extra storage (or at least a start).

Cheapest wood to groove with a router?

Just went with some lengths of redwood. At least some uniformity will remain and I'm not making too many joints. Thanks Phil for that sagging tool. I'll be having lots of braces anyway and continue in the same design as previous so hoping it'll be good in years to come (from a sag free...

Cheapest wood to groove with a router?

The red horizontal line representing the shelve that I plan to route into with a groove opposite in the softwood above it. Then the conti going roughly slotted at the yellow lines into it which will take the runners. Everything's a mess Mark and I'd originally planned to add a park tools wall...

Cheapest wood to groove with a router?

Hi Mark. Yes, it's me Shafiq mate. Hope you're well... I'm gonna work my way down this wall. The long pieces are gonna go horizontally at about 40 or 50cm below the current 'lower deck'. Then hopefully (after a bit of practice on some practice peices) a router making 2 grooves as to slot some...

Cheapest wood to groove with a router?

Sorry if it's a daft/simple question - maybe it should be in a 'ask a silly question' thread... But, which do I need to go and buy. Probably need a board thats at least 2.5m by 0.5m as I just realised my biggest board I've been saving to complete the shelving system is actually conti. The top...

    Wanted Cheap but functional/quality router

Thanks Mel... I looked but couldn't see. Unless you meant the Makita Red at £60? Appreciate the heads up though. Hopefully @furnace might get back at some point about the Elu :-)

    Queen Elizabeth has passed away.

I actually have a 100km mountain bike trail which I hoped to ride. But it has a fair few farm tracks (public bridle way in this case) and though I started planning to ride it on Monday, I'm having slight second thoughts in case I'm met by a 'patriot' whilst on his/her land... Hope you have a...

    Wanted Cheap but functional/quality router

@recipio that's correct... indeed, easier said than done. Just thinking about about how I'd ensure the slots are exactly opposite each other and square is making my head hurt... 😆

    Wanted Cheap but functional/quality router

@furnace hoping you might get back with more details/price/collection on the Elu. I assume it's a 1/4 inch and not too complex for a beginner.

    Wanted Cheap but functional/quality router

(In response to Spectric above... wasn't fast enough)... Aha... Yes, you're right. All I want to really do is to add to this shelving system (just checked the square and smiled to myself - not even sure how I managed all that without my dads supervision... maybe I had learnt something...

    Wanted Cheap but functional/quality router

I think it's you that mentioned the router table and that 'one would want one'. It's kinda putting me off buying a router as I'm trying to limit my power tools not buy more (and more bases for them).
