FTAGH FS - worn Makita SDS Hammer drill (HR 2450)

This is still available btw. Would be a shame to chuck it in the bin as the standard drill/hammer functions do seem to work. Just doesn't get much impact dueing the hammering stage into brick/concrete... Thanks.

FTAGH FS - worn Makita SDS Hammer drill (HR 2450)

Thanks and good point. Sounds and feels like it's working. But the power just doesn't seem right. Make 2 holes in red brick yesterday but not with the ease I'm used to with an SDS. The drill bit doesn't look worn.

FTAGH FS - worn Makita SDS Hammer drill (HR 2450)

Thanks Sammy. Reply sent and swaiting postage details etc. Just to be clear that the hammer action appears to be very weak or broken (maybe a bit hit n miss or I expected too much). Thanks for adding the specs @Spectric

FTAGH FS - worn Makita SDS Hammer drill (HR 2450)

Hi all. Not selling as such as it's mistake purchase I made. A used SDS drill and when I've come to use it just now, the hammer action was almost the same as my 18v Milwaukee - possibly missing or I did summat wrong! I'd guess it needs a good refurb or repair as it's nowehere near as powerful...

    Mafell P1cc buying advice

Hi @mikej460 and thanks for the comment. Not been around for a while as my car started gicing me some gyp as and when I was supposed to bw starting working on the outhouse etc. Not sure if I mentioned the button not full engaging but I spoke to Mafell about this and apparently it's standard...

To whomever is stealing my pencils..

Same here. Only thing is, it's the kids pencils I'm losing. They're so nice in replenishing (after a few minor threats).

The Rolls Royce of Jigsaws? Mafell P1cc

Just a little update about that switch on the Mafell. The fact that it doesn't fully engage didn't sit too well with me so I contacted the Saw Centre who were brilliant. Got a call from a lovely chap at Mafell. He (was also brilliant in his service/manners) tells me that he's looked over it...

How'd you repair this (kitchen cupboard hinge holes) for maximum longevity but best economy?

I'm happy with that... especially so that I managed to get it straight and square. Though at first glances it didn't seem likely. Managed to find a dowel somewhere and though I managed to get it in at an angle (cos I'm an idiot), you can't tell. The wife seems happy.

Impact Driver : Bosch Blue or Metabo

I currently have the Milwaukee (well used 18v) impact and deill driver which I've gifted to my dad (my wood working mentor and who inspired me to I suppose now be a member here... kindof). He was well chuffed when I explained it to him and I reckon he already has a plan for which screws he needs...

How'd you repair this (kitchen cupboard hinge holes) for maximum longevity but best economy?

Thanks very much for that rogxwhit... I'm doing the first patch just now (and just realised that I had depth stops for the drill in the Makita bit set - lovelt when that happens as I've always used electrical tape). Chances are it'll fail soon and I'll be buying my first ever router bit and...

How'd you repair this (kitchen cupboard hinge holes) for maximum longevity but best economy?

Found something up above. He has a Festool drill/driver so it probably doesn't get as elegant as that... You were messing with me about using the router, right - I am sometimes rather gullible : - )

How'd you repair this (kitchen cupboard hinge holes) for maximum longevity but best economy?

Don't want the missus confiscating my tools or worse still, not allowing me to buy more with my pocket money! Needed to repair this hinge hole for a while now - but other stuff like broken head gaskets got in the way - but don't want it being a bodge. Also don't want to spend more on brackets...

    Maybe Google really is watching....

Hi Peri. Yes, if you go into settings you can turn off a few that allows it to (at least pretend) stop snooping and giving you suggestions on life. I turned mine off a long time ago and stopped getting these sorts of suggestions (linked to what I'd been speaking about privately). Only problem is...

Impact Driver : Bosch Blue or Metabo

In other (relevant) news. I think my heart is becoming set on the Metabo (German made versions) but in 12v. That allows me to get rid of the AEG drill driver I've had for almost 10 years but upgrades me to a tiny impact aswell (and get rid of the Milwaukee which I bought used thinking it's all...
