    Sewing machine woes

Had an Onkyo amplifier sent in for repair, went via the retailer, was with them for a month and I was just biding my time to invoke Onkyo's own rule (from their website at the time) - if an item is in for repair for longer than 30 days, a new item will be issued. Bang, new amp please Onkyo, oh...

    Sewing machine woes

You probably already know this http://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/ ... ct-quality sounds like the retailer does. What is a reasonable amount of time for a repair before a replacement should be issued? Try and trip them up on that.

Ever hung a kitchen wall unit and looked at it and thought, "no, no way is that going to hold"? Physics mate :) or some other black magic.

    which router for a table

When you say "mine is now not used" does that refer to the both you stated in your first post? Are you talking about the MOF001 or the TRA001? We went over this quite some time ago, but your router is clearly faulty and should have been sent back under warranty for repair, or if it's always...

Yes, the triton 1/2" is good in a table. I'd recommend it for sure.

    Pillar drill help needed

I expect it will have stretched, they do seem to. I have just ordered some from eBay for a pillar drill I bought from here - it definitely had the wrong size belts on it as they're labelled and do not match the spec in the book. I think if they overheat they go after that - I think anyway.

Things I'm learning as a novice

Hot glue and then use a freeze spray to pop them apart. This may help: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9kyLY1xWrCI Edit: I should add, don't go mental with the hot glue!

What did you do in your workshop today ?

Out of sheer desperation* I welded a snapped bandsaw blade for my metal saw back together today. 100% expected it to fail in a catastrophic fashion...it only bleedin' worked! This was a factory supplied one, must get some made up by Ian once I figure out the sizes. *by desperation I mean...

Mitre saw Bosch GCM 10 SD

It was also how the "fault" appeared to be dealt with by Makita that was part of the damning review if it's the same one I remember reading from Wood Monkey.

Seriously, what mental route are you driving from Gatwick to Swindon? If you're really that close I can meet you somewhere, I just can't see it. This is the Axbridge near Cheddar you're looking st right?
