Are there ANY glasses which Doesn't FOG up?

As MattRoberts said I wear these at work most days for my propper job and they don't fog up even when put on cold. They can if I'm wearing a mask but normally I use a full face shield when using masks. Matt

    Where do you buy screws?

The turbo gold from screwfix seem good value to me, if you want cheaper then then goldscrews are ok. I used to buy my brass screws from toolstation I haven't bought any n a while so cant really comment. I would like to find a place to buy steel slotted screws that aren't astronomically...

    HandScrapers + Softwoods = Doable?

The problem with scraping softwood(I'm talking pine) is that the hard annular rings will scrape but the soft ones won't so well they tend to compress, so you end up with a strange surface that will raise when you apply a finish. The best way in my opinion is to sung up the cap iron and get super...

    Toolbox

Ive made a couple of tool chests and plan on another. All mine have been made entirely by hand (too tight to buy expensive machines!) Dovetails on all 4 corners and then a tongue and grooved bottom nailed on. There is a video by popular woodworking where Chris Schwarz goes through step by step...

    Sharpening methods

I freehand a convex bevel using oil stones a norton fine and a washita. I also have diamond plates but have gone off these recently and gone back to my oil stones. I have also tried sandpaper but I found that on the whole quite expensive. matt

    Pads for sash clamps

Mine all have 6mm ply superglued to them, cheap and easy to replace if i need to. I did have leather on them but found it bade a mess if I got glue on them. I also wax the bars quite regularly as it stops any glue sticking and makes everything move a bit easier. Matt

    Workbench legs

Mine is more of a roubo style buy the theory is the same, cutting mortices through the glue line is fine s long as you did a good job gluing it up. I have ever had any issues with mine in 5 years anyway. Matt

    Workshop Security.

Thanks guys, PIR flood light is on the list, I will probably get an alarm (the wife is a light sleeper so she will hear it) and get some bars welded up for the windows. As has been said it just needs to look like hard work. Matt

    Workshop Security.

Morning all, For the past few nights/early mornings my wife is convinced she has seen a torch light at the back of my workshop (it backs on to an old drainage channel about 6ft wide) because of this and a number of local burglaries I'm starting to think that my workshop might be an easy target...

    Drawbore Rules and Standards?

As far as I'm aware there is no set fast rules. I usually go just under half way between the shoulder and the end of the tenon (hope that makes sense), if using one pin then go dead centre to the tenon, if using two then equal distances to distribute the load. I have only ever used 3/8" pegs but...

Original finish on Tyzack Sons & Turner tenon saw handle

Im a big fan of shellac on tools, I tend to wipe on 2 coats in quick succession and the apply wax using steel wool. Its such a tactile finish its perfect for tools and its so quick to reapply if you feel the need. matt

    Gladius in oak and walnut

I think I would probable use a spokeshave but I would let her have a go, my son had his own spokeshave 6 and still loves using it. Matt

    record power bs400

Sounds like the start capacitor, in an ideal world I would say to switch it on the "help the motor start" but its not the safests so if you decide to do it please be careful. Matt

    an unusual problem

Epoxy definitely. To be honest I wouldn't fire it again without a gunsmith looking at it and carrying out some sae test firings, it could be really dangerous. Matt

    Saw sharpening/deep ripping technique

What I have found with deep ripping is this, if the saw has too many teeth the sawdust builds up in the kerf 1 making the saw inefficient and 2 causing the blade to bow in the cut, this means the saw stops cutting in a straight line making it a lot harder to push the saw and making cleaning up...
