    workshop lighting

Thanks, found some illustrations on internet. Seems to make sense. I think I'll order couple to panels and few battens and see from here how confident I am to install those by myself. In case of doubt I'll call an electrician to sort that out ..

    workshop lighting

Thanks. But how did you connect one led to the other ? It seems some are designed for that (= linkable - have a dedicated plug for it) while some arent.

    workshop lighting

We just moved to our new house, which has a double garage. After "fixing" the walls (repointing & paiting) and the floor, I am now thinking about the lighting. There is a mix of light bulbs and fluorescent tubes. I would like to install some LED battens. However, how do you install several of...

    Shelmore timber

Nope, I didnt. I've lately been buying at british hardwoods. Prices are quite ok and delivery cost isnt bad either. But if someone has some experience with Shelmore, I would still be happy to hear about !

    Apprenticeships

Great work with the stained glass projects ! do you make the stained glass yourself ? And what about the furniture coming with it ? The snowdrop lamp and the frame mirror look very good (though the picture doesnt do it justice !). I dont think you really need an internship ! Really like the door...

    small vacuum extractor advice

Thanks for the feedback ! The bosch specs are quite lower than the Fein, might be an issue if using some power tools at some point. I will check the Numatic range. I bought the Mirka sanding pad (someone on the forum recommend it) and found it very good. I thought i could use my chip extractor...

Do you reuse paint brushes and rollers?

I use mostly milk paint and shellac, so the cleaning is pretty straightforward. When using varnish (not that often) I clean with white spirit. I don't really enjoy it, but feels wrong to just use a brush once. Sent from my VKY-L09 using Tapatalk

    small vacuum extractor advice

Hello, I'm in the market for a small vacuum extractor. I'm mostly using hand tools, but need to sand (by hand) from time to time, which create a bit of dust. I would like to get a small vacuum that would reduce the dust and allow some small general cleaning in the "shop" (= one car garage)...

Bandsaw advice - anyone got an Axminster AT2552B?

I have the Axi 2552 since about a year, and been very happy with it. No issue of it being underpowered. Only negative would be maybe the depth of cut, could have had a bit more at some point. Other than that it has always performed well and is well built. Sent from my VKY-L09 using Tapatalk

Hello, there hasnt been a post on this topic for quite a while, so asking again now : Does anyone have a good address where I can send my planer knives to be resharpened ? I found www.norfolksawservices.co.uk (member of the saw doctors association), but no experience with them, and quite far...

    shopmade liquid hide glue

In a dry form you can keep them indefinitely. As long as they don't get wet by moisture etc Sent from my VKY-L09 using Tapatalk

    shopmade liquid hide glue

Yes, watched those already. Good info, but mainly on hot glue (would need to invest in some kind of pot, and hot glue isn't as easy/straightforward than liquid hide glue, eg the part are to be warmed if the shop is too cold, etc) Bit a good watch nonetheless ! shopmade liquid hide glue

Hello, looking for some info from experienced liquid hide glue users/makers. I quite like using liquid hide glue on my projects, and bought some dried pearls to make my own. I found a "recipe" from Mortice&Tenon publisher which seems to be a "standard" recipe : glue, water and salt. However...

Victorian House of Arts and Crafts

I watched it last year also. Could have been much more interesting, but the focus is mostly on the drama stuff. I liked the embroidery and silversmith ladies. Sent from my VKY-L09 using Tapatalk

    Coronavirus

Agree for the toilet paper. I read that you may experience"runny nose", so better stock tissues. Though it would make sense if they are also stocking cans of baked beans. Ok, I'm out -_- Sent from my VKY-L09 using Tapatalk
