Thanks Mark, will try this way or see if the oven can get another use... Here are some pics of my first tests. Hopefully I'll have some time during the weekend to make something a bit more clean :) Sent from my VKY-L09 using Tapatalk

Mark, I read the thread on your inlayed shelf, very nice job ! The contrasting colours really look great. Out of curiosity, what thickness is the inlay ? Christophe Sent from my VKY-L09 using Tapatalk

    Inlay (with veneers)

Thanks Custard ! The Lie Nielsen tools look definitely great, and I'm considering them. However, I think I will first buy a blade and use a cutoff to make kind of a tool. Sent from my VKY-L09 using Tapatalk

    Inlay (with veneers)

Hi Glynne, many thanks for your answer. That makes totally sense and seems to be the most logical way to proceed. However, I'm still not too sure about the thicknessing tools, as the inlay is pretty easy to trim after being glued in the groove. I should receive a veneer pack on Monday, so I...

    Inlay (with veneers)

Hello, I would need some help/clarification on inlaying bandings. I watched the video from Steve Latta (quite well made) but the following is a bit unclear : I would use some veneer (no bandsaw yet...), and as stated in the video, veneer is most of the time too thin. It is advised to laminate...

What about Bessey clamps ? They always have some offers of some sort, and they seem to be fairly ok.

    Veritas hardware kit for spokeshaves

Just saw the Ron Hock kit. I will check it tonight, but will most probably go for the Veritas one. And for sure I will post a picture of it, but I'm very slow so don't expect an update soon ! Thanks Chris.

    Veritas hardware kit for spokeshaves

Thanks, I will have a look at Fine-tools. I think the shipping cost isn't bad from there (for the moment...) NOt sure about ordering from LeeValley. Shipping costs from Canada might be more than the kit itself !

    Veritas hardware kit for spokeshaves

Hi all, Axeminster and classichandtools used to sell the Veritas hardware kit for spokeshaves (link below) but it seems they stopped selling those. I have searched other websites but cant find any retailer in UK selling those. Would you have any idea/link where I could find those ? I really...

    Sorby Pro-Edge

I'm not doing any turning, so the only thing i would need for now is the 90 deg. I think I will order it with the machine, and I should be good to go for some time. :)

    Sorby Pro-Edge

Thanks all for your information ! So, I just have to sell my Tormek and I think I will get one ProEdge :) (it took me one hour this week end to regring (and remove the hollow) a pmv11 iron... boring ! #-o )

    Sorby Pro-Edge

thanks all for your answers. Few more points : - As I said previously, I have a Tormek, which I find very slow. Will the Sorby ProEdge be faster ? (for plane irons particularly) - Is the machine noisy and doing a lot of sparks ? It would be used in an apartment. Not many neighbours around, but...

    Sorby Pro-Edge

ok, so it will not struggle (and takes ages) on plane irons ?
