Best pallet service that you have used

That was the ags10 that I personally shipped. You could turn the pallet on its end and the job would have a fair chance of staying in place. It was also screwed down to the pallet. If you send a job like that, there's less chance of damage, and less argument about liability if there is...

Best pallet service that you have used

Nothing should just be placed on a pallet. As above, mail order straps and get them sent to the seller direct. Order too many and ask them to use them all.

Best pallet service that you have used

My AGS was damaged in transit on a job booked by speedshift. The person who dealt with the claim at speedshift was rubbish. In the end, I realised that they, of course are just a third party in the claims also, so found out who the broker / underwriter (not sure what the correct term is) and...

Drum sander for finished Kumiko panels

I have one of the Axminster ds635 or whatever it's called.... Im doing a lot of template routing and somtimes the wood moves a but between rough cutting the blanks and final routing. The drum sander is ideal for taking out that bit of movement when a thicknesser would just brutalise the parts...

Best pallet service that you have used

Ps the chap who runs speed shift is on another forum im on. He talks quite frequently at the moment about what a massive strain the system is under. I'm told that things like next day have not been next day for a long time now. I'm not even sure they're sold as such any more. What used to be...

Best pallet service that you have used

They will, in sure, all use the same pallet network. So the difference is how well the booking agent communicates. I think there will be zero difference in actual performance. I may be wrong, but this is pretty much how I understand it works.

Anyone need a new tool cabinet

I'm often making cuts where the blade does not fully pass through the stock. Out of all the scary things I have around here, the table saw gives me more fear than any of them.

    CNC engraving

My spindle is an off the shelf gravograph, but the rest of the machine is custom. The z travel comes from a tiny precision ball slide table. I think it probably has 30mm of travel but I never use more than a couple of mm of this. The pivoting nose cone that I mentioned in the last post is...

    CNC engraving

Z only. So you won't get rotation around the curve of your part, but, if you look at similar parts, gear stick knobs, etc. very closely (and you may have to remove the infill to see) you will see this is normal. Z travel could be whatever the designer wants it to be. But there is probably no...

    CNC engraving

I do CNC engraving for work (check out the 2d section on my site - www.thebeast.co.uk ) The part you have has very little curvature. You don't need to model the profile, a proper engraving spindle (as opposed to a v cutter held in a standard spindle) will follow that amount of curvature, and...

FedEx - the most spectacularly incompetent carrier of them all !

FedEx is currently the only carrier that I'm using for eu traffic. The job I sent to the states with them on Monday was delivered, on time, yesterday. The job sent the day after should be delivered tomorrow. I'll use them again tomorrow to send to Paris. They all have good and bad days but...

Compressors - will this one do?

I've heard a number of not so good reports as to the longevity of the sgs compressors. They are very cheap though, so... One of my compressors is an ancient airmaster one, which I think was some machine mart traded one. Possibly connected with Clarke. They seem to have a better rep. Bare...

Anyone had any luck selling up-cycled furniture?

Storage Transport If you can take care of both of those, then I think there is money in it. Without them it will be hard.

    Osmo poly-x application technique?

I bought some gloss polyx last time, instead of the usual satin, and found it to be, pretty much the same finish, until an incident the other day, that's made me question my technique with it. So, I've always thought that you are supposed to apply it sparingly (but completely) and then wipe off...

Post a photo of the last thing you made

similar to the one i posted last week. note: the marks on the silver boxes were intentionally left in place. the photos are being posted elsewhere (as in places where I'm trying to sell) and i wanted to make the distinction between the "straight from the machine" parts, and ones that I've...

    For Sale fs: dewalt dw125 / 1251 radial arm saw - £145

Dewalt DW125 / 1251 radial arm saw. I've owned this DW125 saw for about a decade, and its done me well, but the workshop has got to the point now where there are larger machines that cover its functions, so i just dont use it so much any more. For someone starting out, as i was, they pack so...

    Festool ROS Broken, advice needed

I use a kress tool a lot. So much that I have two the same for when one breaks so I get no down time... I send them off to a place called JGPower (I think it's just a one man band or at least small enterprise) Google and you'll get the details. Always a good service. I guess I first sent...

Triton TSPS450 450W Oscillating Spindle Sander

Yes, I know, however I really don't need the belt, and considered the position of the spindle / bobbin sub optimal for my work when in that mode. Hence just getting the non tilting in the meen time and then will replace with the jet when the time comes.
