Difficulty finding a slotted stubby screwdriver with 10mm x 1.6mm blade

Have you tried gunsmith screwdrivers? I have a set for brass screws, they are not tapered like normal Sparky drivers they have truly square heads on them. All so you don’t mangle your brass screws and no slippage occurs for nice cabinetry etc I think I got them from Classic Hand Tools but could...

    Workbench top wood selection

I have a beech top on mine. If it gets dented/marked badly or even becomes uneven I put my no 7 to work all over it and flatten by hand. 👍🏻

Welcome Charlie! Enjoy! This is a wonderful forum, there are loads of clever people on here, many with varied backgrounds and interests. I'm sure you will have lots to learn and loads to offer. My only advice is steer clear of the political bullish*t in my opinion...it only ends in tears! 🙏👍

Brilliant, love it :) What a shame you don't have the French place any more. What a beautiful country. My mate lives between the Alps in the winter and the Basque / Atlantic coast of France in the summer, lives the life of riley he does.

    Dimensioning by hand

I have seen them on fine tools.com aka Dieter Schmid, they have a hornbeam sole, I think I might invest in one....Hand tool work is underrated even in a commercial setting.

Flush router bit for 60mm hardwood join.

I was taught to dish slightly each edge when jointing (workbench tops and table tops) with a hand plane after machining (using a no 7 no make it easier) with the ends touching 50-100 mm (on both at ends) on each component you are jointing, leaving a slight 1-1.5mm between each board and then...

Building a workshop in an old stone built barn

Ps - I was referring to the gap between the concrete floor and walls... You obviously won't do that if you create a floating floor. Anyway... Ageing, good luck and sounds like you will have a great space to make pretty things out of wood and lots of sawdust... ;)
