    Check my geometry

You seem to be lacking a basic understanding but nevertheless, go ahead and have a try, I'd like to see your results.

    Check my geometry

From beginning to end it was a freaking nightmare. It ended up in the bin once! The exact dimensions have to be nailed from the start before glue up to less than a mm accuracy. Cutting the trapezoid shaped sticks was the easiest part but glueing them together to make the triangle was...

Table mats finally complete, a very challenging project.

    Check my geometry

OK, after many challenges along the way I have finally completed this project. The wood colour tones didn't come out as well as I was expecting but I'm happy with the final result.

    Veneering

I'm just starting out with veneering so I have a couple of questions for those that know stuff. I'm making some table mats that are around 300mm x 200mm. When it comes to a balancing veneer what is best to use in terms of something that is cheap and cheerful as it won't be seen. If I use...

Help, what species of wood please?

    Birch, maybe.

    Outdoor Furniture wood?

I read somewhere that Cedar is a good material for outside furniture. I don't think the joint in the red circle will be strong enough with dowels or biscuits as there will be a lot of stress on it. Here is a link to Norm Abrams Adirondak chair build which is joined with glue and screws and...

    Ratio!?

If you have the top and base the same then that will be fine. That's what I did and I've had no problem in several years.

Went to visit some friends who have a 2 year old girl so I made this for her using my scroll saw for the first time.

    Check my geometry

The triangle shape will be the end grain of 3 different sticks of wood in dark walnut, light walnut and silver birch. When several slices are assembled together they produce a seemingly 3D step pattern similar to drawings by MC Escher. Like this -

Sold Axminster TS-200 Tablesaw (complete kit, plus spare blades)

I have a newer version of this saw without the extras and I would say it's a good machine and £200 is a bargain.

And here's the reworked model (with imaginary decimal place), thanks for everyones suggestions.

    Check my geometry

Thanks for all the help. I looked for that setting and changed it but it didn't apply the change. I'll try opening a fresh drawing in mm and copying the triangle into it. This will be composed of 3 different woods so I didn't factor in the kerf. As I've already milled the wood down to 15mm...

    Check my geometry

So it does. As it should read 54 I'm guessing this is a rounding error. I've looked in the settings for a way to add more digits but there doesn't seem to be one.

    Check my geometry

I'm making some table mats with a geometric pattern. First I need to mill the wood down to 15mm thickness then cut the sides at 60degs giving me a trapezoid. According to sketchup I should have a base that is 36mm and the other three sides will be 18mm (I know it says m on the sketchup model)...
