    You should be able to press them sequentially the first connected to the mains will latch and hold in ..the 2nd will turn the machine on and latch when pressed…pressing stop on either will stop the machine..if power fails both will latch out.

    Compressor probs ...starting when hot...well not actually hot....

    Is the pressure relief valve working on the pressure switch? You should hear a hiss from the switch when it switches off at high pressure…thereby making the pipe from compressor to tank at no positive pressure.
