    Feeling old

Grief, it’s just the monotony of that sort of job that does my head in.

Sold Myford Mystro II Lathe + Chisels For Sale

I am having a workshop downsize and this is the first item that needs to go. I am ashamed to admit that my eyes were bigger than my belly when I bought this and as far as turning skills go, this lathe is way beyond my pay grade. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed a bit of woodturning but I never...

    Feeling old

At the other end of the spectrum, at school, I was often told not to be childish.

    Workshop Roof

    I’m considering a roof light

    Aren't some folk mean!

What happened in the previous 9 years?

Good point, I won’t but good point. Puts it in perspective!

    Workshop Roof

I am going to demolish my 30 year old workshop and build another in it's place. The old one has served me well, but is an extended shop bought shed, all built in 2"x 2" and is sagging/rotting/leaking and generally showing signs of collapse. I guess I could get a few more years out of it but it...

    Gout 😥

We went to France a few years back and I needed some Nurofen and Codeine tablets. When I showed the box to the pharmacist, she threatened to call the police! Apparently Nurofen on its own is OK. So I bought those to calm the atmosphere. Anyway I happily took these and thought maybe I didn’t...

Nothing to see here just an empty packet of Rawlplugs

I've just Googled Rawl Drill. Am I seeing this right and it was just hammered into the wall?

    £10

I haven’t got it yet. I should have but haven’t. Maybe it’s been redirected to a worthier cause. Keep your eyes open. 👍

    £10

First paid in 1972, never gone up. I thinks it’s called taking the p*ss.

    Heating thermostat in the hallway

You would think that there is a major opportunity here for the people that know so much, to set up a professional individual assessment and advice service for the domestic punter so that we can get a definitive answer as to what to do. I would pay money for that.

    Heating thermostat in the hallway

How is your average punter (me) expected to know all this stuff? Over the years I have tried I think, every tip/trick suggested. Combination boilers, condensing boilers, TRV’s, boiler flow control, house zones, radiators various, underfloor heating, insulation overload, thermally lined...

    e scooters

And being punched. And hiring a holiday cottage when your 6’ 4” tall. And drinking too much. And bending down in the garage forgetting you’ve left the loft hatch open.

    Joke Thread II

I’ve just told this joke to my wife. She accused me of being on something called UK Workshop again. How did she know?

    Batteries and chargers (AA/AAA)

Have you compared normal Eneloop with the Pro version? Not a trick question as I am using the Pro for all sorts but did read recently that they’re not the best for low power things like clocks. Not that I’m actually changing the clock batteries that often. But as I replace my Duracells with...

    Batteries and chargers (AA/AAA)

I’ve been using Panasonic Eneloop Pro for a couple of years now. They don’t last quite as long as a Duracell but then again it’s not that significant and I don’t have a small sack of dead Duracells to get rid of on a regular basis.

    ANPR insurance issue

A physical copy of a car insurance is no good. It only proves that there was insurance at the time it was issued not necessarily in force now. But it does provide a reference for the police to check with the insurance company, if they feel inclined to do so.

Where do you hang your clothes at night?

Anywhere that irritates my wife. Then they miraculously get put away.
