New workshop help to insulate and layers needed.

If you clad the inside with ply or OSB, being WBP, it is virtually a damp proof membrane in itself, so there is no need to line behind it...unless you want belt and Braces. As you cannot fit the permeable membrane behind the cladding in a continuous sheet because of the 4x2 there is not much...

Fake goods- anything I can do?

Hi, I had almost exactly this issue with a fake memory card from ebay sometime back before I "knew better". I contacted paypal who said I should send it back for a refund, This would have cost me half the value and risk still not getting a refund and I wouldn't have got my money back. I then...

Builders' skips and a new measurement scale

I guess I should have said, "it make's it unsuitable for recycling and not added "unrecyclable". Quote "Some local authorities will not collect shredded paper. This is because although, technically, shredded paper can be recycled, some paper mills cannot take it. There are two main reasons for...

Builders' skips and a new measurement scale

No I agree it doesn't seem to make sense, but you said it yourself " shredding" is actually ripping apart etc, wheras shredding at home (by machine) is cutting the paper and thus the fibres are "cut" . two different interpretations of shredding but only one can reform paper. Alan

    Paypal help

I think if you transfer funds into (from bank) or have funds already in the account (from sales) then there is no credit card transaction to accrue charges. That's how it seems to have worked for me anyway. So if someone pays you from an account with funds in it, it's OK. Aaln

Builders' skips and a new measurement scale

That'll be because when you shred it, you've cut the fibres and made it unsuitable for recycling as paper if it gets mixed with the ordinary paper the whole lot is unrecyclable. Alan

    Help with CH Boiler

No, it woud mean that the pump would try to pump hot water (to CH) but it can't get through, so it cuts out on the boiler stat. If your HW is causing the problem check the diaphragm is not holed. Alan

One of mine is like that, I Can't remember now whether it was the hole in the lever offset or the pivot for the lever offset. definitely not anything more serious like casting or blade. That said it is an annoying little trait that I did intend to sort out (braze and redrill hole) . Now I think...

    TV Question again !

Steve, This is a very difficult one, because there are very diverse opinions which will be strongly defended by individuals looking to reassure themselves that they spent their own money on the right thing so will tend to repeat manufacturers blurb. The best advice is to view sets of a...
