    Bicycles

Not a cargo bike but I've got a trailer which we used for our old dog when he couldn't keep up any more. I've used it for camping and bothy trips but never for shopping/woodworking stuff.

1985 custom built Bob Jackson - my first proper racing bike. It has BJ Golden Jubilee livery and 1985 was also Reynolds Golden Jubilee year so it has their commemorative decals too. Kitted out with Campag SR and Cinelli bars. It's only allowed out on dry sunny days now. Bianchi Pista (c1990) -...

Yet another box. The sides are white oak. It was going to have a padauk base and lid but I decided not to waste such good wood on it so slapped on some pine instead. It's my first go at working with hardwood and a million things went wrong - not least this: Checked it for square when I did a...

Box with sliding lid and simple dovetails. First go at a raised panel and managed to get it fairly crisp. That 20mm pine is too heavy for a box this size but it's all I had.

    Woodworking Youtubers

As a relative novice I find Rex Krueger to be at the right level for me. His stuff is totally unplugged, affordable and very well explained. Also good for new starters is Steve Ramsey. More mechanised than Rex Krueger but very organised and logical. That's his website link but he has loads of...

Inside is er.............. utilitarian rather than pretty. It's also got chest lifts fitted now so I suppose it wasn't really finished yesterday. Much easier to handle the weight now and it looks a lot better too.

    How To Buy Hardwoods

There's Arbor Timber at Langley Moor near Durham. There's nothing machined until you ask for it so it's a matter of browsing, picking and then waiting for your piece(s) to be machined. That may take a few days. If you're not that picky you could order online and would probably be OK - I've had...

No footy, no cricket, no gigs so plenty of time and a little spare cash available to spend on some woodworking projects. Not up to the standards seen on here but give me another twenty years....... First up is my go at a small scale traditional joiner's tool chest. There's a little bit of...
