You guys must be heavy drinkers...

And .. Yep. I remember going over to the US in the early 90s for a conference and drinking bottle after bottle of Budweiser and wondering why I was still sober as a judge. It was a very boring conference, I could have done with a little buzz. They don't put the ABV on the label like they do...

    Vaccination

I respectfully disagree. (Best just not to take the bait.) I think it's been very useful for those with concerns about the various vaccines, and has allowed those of us who have actually had the *** to share our experiences. I had my *** (Oxford/AstraZeneca) on Saturday and apart from a little...

    Vaccination

Had my *** (OxAZ) at 11:00 this morning at my local doctors surgery. I was massively impressed with the organisation. The last time I was there, about a month ago, there was a huge queue in the car park for flu jabs and one harrassed woman at the reception desk completely overwhelmed, so I was...

    Bringing goods from the EU

Expecting MPs from the two main parties to vote for PR is about as likely as turkeys voting for Christmas.

    Vaccination

There's a woman from Fareham having her 15 minutes of fame on social media currently. She's been banned from Bournemouth hospital after filming empty corridors on a Saturday evening and claiming the pandemic is a huge hoax. Meanwhile in a quarantined area of the hospital (quarantined for her...

    Vaccination

I'd be more inclined to follow NHS advice and have the *** if they asked me to. They seem to know what they're doing. Edit: Astra-Zeneca have published findings that show that their vaccine reduces transmission by 67%: "The authors also report further on the potential for the vaccine to reduce...

    Bringing goods from the EU

My point was that the change in legislation is not aimed at British Farmers as you implied. But of course you know that, you just can't admit it. 🤣

    Bringing goods from the EU

I was simply pointing out that: "Do you think UK farmers are chomping at the bit to start whipping their animals and it was only the EU that could hold back their bloodlust" was barking up entirely the wrong tree. Nice deflection...

    Bringing goods from the EU

The legislation was there to prevent the import of meat from countries with poor animal welfare practices. It's not so much the chlorination of chicken but why it is necessary - i.e. low hygiene standards.

car battery problem, any advice please?

As I foiund out to my cost, even a new battery will die faily quickly unless either a car is used regualrly, or the battery is kept charged. I was forced to lay up a 5-series BMW for several months when my wife fell ill. I was running a company car. The original battery died after a couple of...

    Vaccination

Just got a text from my local surgery - booked in for next Saturday - woohoo! I must be one of the last of my group - only turned 70 three weeks ago. What an amazing job the NHS is doing!

    Lidl visit

When going through the Lidl checkout, why do so many women appear surprised that having packed all their purchases carefully away, they have to pay for them? And after overcoming their surprise they have to find their credit card, which involves rummaging in their shopping bag, finally...
