    Putin is a loser

Putin's main reason for being in Syria is to prevent the construction of the proposed pipeline from the South Pars/North Dome gas field in the Persian Gulf to Southern Europe. South Pars/North Dome is by far the largest gas field in the world, holding almost as much recoverable reserves as all...

MPs vote in favour of assisted dying bill

My partner was an 'end of life' nurse for 25 years. She provided palliative care and sat with people through their last, often very painful, months, days and hours. She's retired now and this was before we met. She is 100% in favour of the bill.

    Putin is a loser

Followed by an abiding hatred of the Shia renegade Iran. It's a centuries-old sectarian rivalry over the true interpretation of Islam.

    Putin is a loser

Who said anything about ,"worthy action"? I'm saying that Putin is walking a tightrope cosying up to Iran given, as I'm sure you know, that (Shia) Iran and (Sunni) Saudi Arabia are sworn enemies, and the Saudis could pull the plug on oil prices any time they like.

    Putin is a loser

I read yesterday that the Saudis are sitting on a huge surplus of oil and could cripple Putin any time by dropping the price to $50 or less. He's walking a fine line given his cosying up to Iran for logistical support in Ukraine.

    Putin is a loser

I have no idea where you are getting all that from. I said that, on past evidence, in Russia life is cheap. In the context of the previous few posts before mine my point was: the Russian side may be taking horrendous casualties but don't get any hopes up that Putin will be shedding any tears...

    Putin is a loser

Where did I say the Nazis killed them all? Stalin was as ruthless with his own as he was with the Germans.

    Putin is a loser

Military and civilian deaths there in WWII are conservatively estimated at 27 million. In Russia life is cheap - and certainly no great concern to Putin.

    Putin is a loser

I have a good friend who runs an army surplus wholesale business. He buys in bulk, mostly clothing, from governments around the world and supplies army surplus retail shops here and abroad. While it was possible to do business with Russia he had a look at a few batches of surplus army uniforms...

And in today's post bag we have...

I get a Christmas card every year from a choral society in Guildford for a previous occupant. I used to send them back marked 'No longer at this address' but they still arrive every year. Actually, in this time of high postage costs and many people giving up posting them, I quite look forward to...

Buying a fully electric used car

My daughter has been driving company EVs (a Kia and a Seat) for three years and she absolutely loves them. She travels for work and has never had a problem with charging even in deepest Wales, but she is a good planner. She's happy to sit with a coffee and her laptop for 40 minutes at a...

    Cop 29

An emerging consumer of large amounts of electricity is AI. Vast sums are being invested in AI data centres that will require huge amounts of energy. In the news this week, China is well on the way to creating fully ambulatory, sentient androids. Soon we'll have factories full of robots building...

    Climate change policy

Tony asks a lot of questions but never responds to any of the many reasoned answers people spend time writing, except with insults. Ladies and gentlemen, we are being trolled.
