bandsaw blades for record 350 103x3/4

I have tried many makes and suppliers over the years but now return to Axminster tools. If the size you want is not available I believe they will still make one up to your requirements. Colin

Saw for cutting up scavenged firewood?

Mark, I believe the chainsaw is overkill for hacking into pallets and scavenged timber for the fire. In addition to my cheap Bosch circular saw I have a Makita UC3520 ? electric chain saw, currently £96 at Axminsters. I sold my old 50cc petrol 20" blade MuCulloch to buy this, as I no longer...

Saw for cutting up scavenged firewood?

Some years ago I bought the cheapest hand held circular saw I could find. It was a Bosch with a 40mm cut, and the blade has only 4 teeth I think. All it gets used for is chopping up pallets, a job it performs several times a year. Keep it simple, buy cheap and don't worry about the blade. Colin

    Startrite bandsaw

Claud, after looking at the Startrite website it is obvious you are looking at a serious piece of kit. I bought a "cheap" Startrite, the 352E last year. I found it difficult to believe it is an imported machine. The quality and performance are first class. 2hp motor, good true fence, nice cast...

    Spot the difference - linisher

I teach Technology in a secondary school, and we run both Axminster and Jet machinery. The price of Axminster own brand is most attractive, but the build quality is not as attractive as that of the Jet machinery. I am trying to be polite. Please read between the lines. Colin

    Router table and box

Chris, I've only used the small Bosch a few times, but this has been enough to make my mind up on what a nice tool it is. I will not use it to its full potential, as I'm not a routing addict. I bought it after missing out on a 2nd hand Lamello laminate trimmer. I wanted something small that...

    Radial Arm Saw Blade

I am collecting a 2nd hand Elu radial arm saw in a couple of weeks time. I am looking to get a fine blade for it. I know I need negative rake, and know the size and preferred no of teeth. Question is do I go for a Trend CraftPro, or an Axminster Axcaliber. Colin

Which 1" Floor Mounted Morticer to buy and which to avoid?

I have used a Record, bought second hand for about 20 years. Models have changed over time, but the closest to mine is the Startrite currently on sale. Only difference is newer models have one only hand wheel for back/forward, left/right movement of the table. I have been very pleased with the...

    Motor replacement Bandsaw Startrite 301?

Firstly, just go and collect it. Secondly use the Yellow Pages and look for "Armature Rewinds" locally. Take the motor in and have them test it. From memory the 301/Bandit is ony a 3/4 hp about 550 watt motor. If the motor is shot they may have an off the shelf replacement available with a few...

    Alternative sash clamps to record

In the past I have used cheap and expensive sash clamps, both I and T section, but I have mainly used the record 130's? clamp heads for timber bars for over twenty years. I have 3 foot and 5 foot ash "bars", the 5 foot bars deeper in section. I have been very pleased with these, particularly...

    Router table and box

Not sure if this is in the correct place, being a newbie., but here goes. A couple of X-mas presents to myself this year. Firstly a router cabinet/table to replace my old number made some 25 years ago. Construction is 18mm birch plywood, biscuit jointed together. A 60 x 40 beech stretcher is...

    Dewalt DW721 - sizes

I still have my Eumenia up for grabs, and my search for a Dewalt radial arm saw is going in circles. I may have the option on a 721, but need some sizes before I start haggling. Does anybody out there have one, and if so can they help me with the dimensions of the metal box frame the pillar...

    Stupid extraction question....

Getting back to your choice of extractor. Big is best, not because of capacity, but because of performance. I have always bought 2nd hand, statrting with Kity [nice small machine], Dewalt [bigger and good performance], Fercell [fine performer but top filter let to much dust through into the...
