    4.5" angle grinder with a 1mm thick blade and use a bit of wood for a fence. to cut along, minimal finishing.

    do remember the smaller the lathe, the smaller the handwheels and the more stress to turn them. I'd go the easy way and plump for an older flatbelt lathe of a decent size.

    A set of steps for my static, first time using loose tenons, and a routing jig to produce them. Took a lot longer than expected 36 hours but that includes jig making. Made entirely from recycled materials.

    ok I checked the collet is 1/4 and so is the shank of the bit all cleaned out with an airline and reamer to clean the collet (hand spun so not cutting metal, ha ha) will have a go later today. I'd no idea bottoming a cutter could cause a problem, never thought about it before. so something else...
