Could EVERYONE stop making stuff so I could afford the materials..

I must have got lucky. Selco wouldn't deliver it but When I was in Wickes buying some other bits they had loads so I bought 30 bags yesterday and another 20 today. I don't need anywhere near the 62 bags I currently have for my extension but what I don't need the Father in law will have off me...

Had an abundance of Plywood offcuts and a Mitre saw that was on an old Axminster stand that wobbled like crazy and didn't wheel around like it was supposed to so I knocked up a simple wheeled stand with fold up/down wings for longer material cuts. Wing supports have coach bolts in threaded...

Best Table Saw i have ever had!

The on/off switch can be loosened off and slid up and down the fence to put it where you want.

Best Table Saw i have ever had!

I use my Laguna 3 as part of my workbench space. With a quick release Blade guard and the fence moved fought out to the 900mm limit I end up with a 6' x 5' workbench space in a single garage. You just need to organise the space with all machinery on castors which I'm slowly dealing with. I have...

Really annoyed myself believing **** online

If you are going to have another go then using smaller timber would be a good idea. I've not seen it anywhere except wickes but they do 35x68mm CLS timber which I use for making certain bits of my Wheelie bin stores but being half te size of standard 4x2 would probably make a nice chair.

    Double sided tape?

I bought some DS tape that did the same thing as my usual Ds tape was all used up and I couldnt get to the shops to get more of it. Promptly realised I was fighting a losing battle and I was better off bulk buying my usual stuff. I use DS tape from WIlko. Their own brand stuff. £4 a roll...

    Shaper Origin

That’s the Maslow system. Fairly good but very slow.

    Shaper Origin

I'm intruiged about these too. I tend to work with full size Sheets of ply and with a single garage sized space to work in i'm not in any position to even comtemplate a 4x8 CNC. I wonder how well they will work cutting out shapes on full size sheets over smaller bits

    Small SDS battery drill....

I have this Drill and when using it for those simple repetitive holes for Rawl plugs it is amazing. Light and plenty powerful. I got it when I was rewiring my house and was putting in loads of back boxes. With a decent 4ah battery it'll last a decent amount of time and never missed a beat...

    Neighbour's circular saw accident

The larger 9'' versions tend to have a trigger switch but I agree with you. they all should have one even the little ones.

Laguna fusion 3 table saw (few questions)

The extra width is because the front rail pokes out the Lh side when the fence is set to zero on the blade. The actual table top is 1650 I got mine from grovewood machines. They had one in stock and I got it as a slightly impulse type purchase knowing if I missed out on it it would be a long...

Laguna fusion 3 table saw (few questions)

I have recently bought the Same saw although having yet to rewire the garage means it is a very expensive workbench currently! I've not measured it but I would say the width and height are correct and the length would include the outfeed tablbe that comes with it. I've not fitted that myself...

I've found a slightly different use for Retractable workshop castors. Turbo trainer rocker plates on wheels!

And another Wood finish Direct vote although i've bought some stuff from Decorating warehouse last week and it turned up very promptly for a good price too. Mainly because Wood Finish direct didnt do what I needed.

    Cut off/scrap fever

I create a massive amount or plywood scrap which I used to keep but working out a single garage means it has to go or have a use for it found quickly. Fortunately i've found 2 uses for it, It gets cut down into parts for my latest product that needs loads of little bits of ply to stack for...

Recommendations for a UK based CNC building company

Would the addition of this upgrade kit be worthwhile? Does away with the V wheel runners and replaces it with Linear Rails. https://bulkman3d.com/product/queenbee-pro-cnc-machine-mechanical-kit-upgrade-kit/

OH has been struggling with a bad back due to being stuck at a desk all day on google classrooms when she's used to standing so I threw together a sanding desk for her out of some Spare ply I had from a previous project. Not pretty and in need of a sand especially a the round over bit I used on...

Plywood stained black but with Clear top coat.

Newbie first post here so if I'm breaking a etiquette somehow by not posting an intro somewhere else or something else please forgive me. I've been tasked with 'painting' some plywood black but needs the grain to still show through however the Ply is going to get a fair bit of moisture dropped...
