Anyone build a wooden shed lately? Cost effective vs Bought Shed?

Agreed assuming you want a decent solid shed. The biggest problem with trying to build the lower spec shed is that you can't get hold of the materials. Youd spend so much time ripping down timber into smaller bits for the frames it isnt worth it. My shed is basically a garden room apart from...

Any one repaired a Henry Hoover?

The motor in a Henry is in lots of things. My Record Power DX5000 dust extractor has 2 of them in it. Only worked that out when I though a motor had blown, took it apart and then googled the part number!

Anyone build a wooden shed lately? Cost effective vs Bought Shed?

Yep Built my own from scratch end of last year. 100mm wired concrete base with 3 rows of engineering brisk to keep the wood off the floor. 3x2 frame work with 4x2 roof joists. GRP roof as I had some left over from a extension I built at the beginning of the year. Doing it again I'd use...

Isotunes or other Bluetooth ear protection

I have 2 pairs of the Big over ear orange ones and a Pair of the small Wireless Ear bud ones. The over ear ones I find had to wear all day as my ears a touch big for them and they just dont sit right but they work very well and I do normally find myself using them over the buds. The buds are...

After looking at the previous years gifts that are made for people at least giving wood means you don't have your efforts plastered all over the internet! Its the theory I was seriously considering at one point! lol

    2021 Secret Santa.

Mine will go to the post office tomorrow for a 24hr delivery. Apologies for not getting it out sooner, I've been snowed under with stuff and not managed to get to a PO. My SS for me though turned up on Monday but I wasnt home and the 'sorry we missed you card' was blank so I assumed as has...

    Track saws?

I mostly Dont clamp as the way I use it means I dont actually cut right up to a line but for the occasions I have used it properly I do clamp it. I will say though the Festool tracks I find really dont move around

    Track saws?

I think Track saws are one of those tools where you really do get what you pay for. For most things a cheap drill issn too dissimilar to an expensive one.

Post a photo of the last thing you made

Mother in Law wanted a box to put the ashes of her parents in so I happily took the chance to get some practice making square boxes and made this Solid ash ashes box. Nothing fancy and tbh the little skirt/feet thing I put on it was a mistake as the Mitres are really not great. In fact I grain...

    Thinnest stock for Domino?

Maybe not but dowels would work. It was more in reference to the Niche aspect of the Domino and theft that they are great bits of kit but for just about every reason for using one there is an alternative.
