    I think that's quite a limited and narrow minded way to look at it. Our dogs love their crate and sleep in it willing, it's nice for them to have their own space. We use the crate as a training tool, 5 minute calm down works wonders for our German shepherds, much better than telling them off...

    @Superduner If you're planning on running a telly you might want to go for a pure sine wave generator, it's a lot smoother power Also LPG generators are a fantastic idea. Petrol and diesel have a short shelf life, as low as 3 months sometimes but gas cylinder last donkeys years

    What about a timber floor ? DPM, treated timber , OSB floor boards. For me I think it would be simpler than messing with concrete and leveling compounds. Maybe it wouldn't last forever if the timbers are getting wet but would do a good few years easily
