    Ripping stock to same width

Thanks John, I know exactly which adverts you mean, but this one is from a local guy who seems genuine. No asking for money up front or anything like that! Thanks sams93 I hadn’t even heard of that saw so I’ll take a look.

    Ripping stock to same width

Evening everyone This has probably been asked a million times before but what’s your preferred method of ripping stock to the same width. I’m guessing the majority will saw table saw but are there other alternatives? Plunge saw? Maybe takes a bit longer to get it setup each time? Bandsaw? Maybe...

    Sedgwick P/T

Lads and ladies Having recently missed out on another Sedgwick P/T, this one has come up for sale not far from me. Anything I should be looking out for? Or any alternatives? I like the idea of buying something older and better built instead of one of the newer modern Far Eastern machines (not...

    Kity bestcombi

Hi everyone Have any of you had any experience of the Kity combi machines? I’ve seen quite a bit of info kicking around on the k5 but has anyone heard of or owned the Kity bestcombi machine? If so, what are your thoughts on them? My workshop is small and a combination machine seems to be ideal...

    Workstand for small Inca bandsaw

Morning everyone I recently got hold of an Inca 260 bandsaw and I’ve used it to trim down a few short lengths of timber however due to lack of a work stand I’ve so far been using it on the floor which is far from ideal. Do any of you guys have any plans or suggestions for the best way to make...

    Trellis archway

Hi everyone I’m currently building a garden seating area and would like to add some trellis work to the back of the seat with a curved bottom. Do you think if I cut a thin 3-4mm thick strip off a length of 4x2 on my bandsaw then I’ll be able to be able to bend it to shape without any fancy...

    Looking for a track saw

You might be able to find a second hand makita on Facebook/eBay/gumtree within your budget. I’ve bought quite a few power tools second hand and they’ve all been great.

    Looking for a track saw

Hi, I’ve also been looking for a track saw and based on the vast number of reviews I’ve read I’d also recommend the makita. And that seems like a bargain if it includes the rails!!

    Axminster xcaliber router bits

Hi Alan thanks for the reply. It seems like a reasonable price of around £10 per bit and like you it’s for hobby use rather than anything more serious. Cheers Pete

    Axminster xcaliber router bits

Evening everyone I’d like to get your thoughts on the above please. Are they any good? They are on offer on axi website at the minute. Alternatively I’ve been offered some second hand Wealden bits (used so I’m not sure exactly what condition there are in until I try cutting with them). Are the...

Hi again, sorry another sash clamp question…. I’ve seen some clamps locally and have noticed they have South Africa cast on them. Did any of you realise record made (or use to make) tools in South Africa? Any experience of the quality? Cheers

    Is my router good enough?

Hi parbynat, I can fully recommend the makita RP2301 that I’ve got. It’s extremely powerful with a 2.1kW motor. Could be worth looking around at second hand ones if you can. I got mine for £140 and they are around £250 new. Cheers
