    Bambu lab buying advice

I now use a Flashforge Adventurer 5PRO after cutting my teeth on an Ancubic Kobra for over a year. It was a toss-up between the Flashforge and the comparable Bambu. The only real advantages I could see between the two is that the Flashforge is slightly faster and the nozzle change is a doddle...

    Kity paint information anyone

If you have a paint shop or decorator outlet like Brewer's nearby, you could take a painted part from your Kity and get your paint colour matched and mixed. Unfortunately, they tend to only do minimums of 1tr. But, they may just scan it for you to give you the colour code or HEX code so you can...

    Combo Table Saw/Planer Thicknesser

I'm still using my Bestcombi 2000. Bought it from new. In all those years, I have had to replace a fanbelt and off-the-shelf bushes for the planer thicknesser. So, for me, it has been a great workhorse for over twenty-six years. They do come up on eBay now and again at bargain prices.

Post a photo of the last thing you turned

Nice to get back on the lathe if only for an hour. I've got several blanks that have been prepared for months. Turning a pen or two at a time is about as long as i can stand on me crappy feet at the moment so get ready for a pen overload until I can stand long enough for a bowl.

    Thought on AI

I think you're correct about the trees being the better choice but I thought I would look up what PLA is made up of. It's the general go-to filament for 3D printing: From Brave AI search: What is PLA made of Lactic acid molecules: Chemically, PLA is made from lactic acid molecules. The lactic...

    Statins and statistics

I was asked if I wanted to go on Statins after they checked out the 'fluttering' sensation I was getting in my chest. Couldn't find anything wrong with me and put the probable cause down to stress after losing my big brother (a proper carpenter). I was in my early fifties, still working, and a...

Sorry to seem repetative, but I couldn't resist this one.

Gorilla glue doesn't seem very good

I've used Gorilla PU and PVA. I found the PU no better or worse than the cheapest PU you can find on eBay. It seems to be very 'samey' across the ranges. The important part of using PU glue is that both surfaces need to match, with no gaps. It's not a gap filler unless you are using it in small...

Not really a joke but has anybody asked Alexa if footballs coming home. Very clever.
