    18v tool brand choice

that does sound lengthy for a small battery to charge, not an issue I was aware of. I personally have no powerstack batteries, I had assumed by now they would be a bit more affordable, from the adverts (admitedly not the most reliable source always) they seems to offer more power and longevity...

this deal on screwfix caught my eye, 90nm drill, 3 of the new 1.7ah powerstack batteries (if you get the extra promotional one) , charger, mclaren limited edition (bit so what, but some may like it) £230 DeWalt McLaren F1 Team DCD85ME2GT-GB 18V 2 x 1.7Ah Li-Ion PowerStack Brushless Cordless XR...

    Shed help

I may be missing something here but it looks like the tilt of the roof will channel all the rain down the back where it will be up against a fence and never dry out?

the first drill is 65nm and also metal gearing according to the listing I don't know in real terms how much difference 5nm makes?

    18v tool brand choice

thats a valid point, particuarly as brands are bought and sold so often, but frustrating as longevity is such an indicator of quality.

    18v tool brand choice

I've found the opposite, I often use a Makita 12v impact driver which has a tiny 1.5Ah battery so the whole thing is super lightweight, and pretty small, when your working overhead for any length of time the reduced weight is a godsend. I have to say the drill that is the other half of the 12v...

    Pull-saws at lidl

I notice the plasma cutters are now the parkside proffessional range, and no longer run on the standard domestic power supply, which makes them even stranger than ever to find in a supermarket

    Reinforcing loose wall plugs.

as per Clogs above, more info needed on the wall type, perhaps a photo? but my first thought would be to remove any loose dust and debris then fill the hole with milliput, cure, redrill and new wall plug

auto centre punch, how long do the pins last?

I agree, a cheapo tool wont last long, I've not had one before and my thinking was if I use it a lot and it breaks I'll get a more expensive one next time. It won't be used a lot on metal, which might help the lifespan a bit

auto centre punch, how long do the pins last?

I picked up an automatic centre punch today from lidl, it came with a couple of spare spikes / pins / heads, I assumed at first that they were different sizes, but they seem identical, just replacements, so my question is how long would these pins normally last, do they blunt / buckle relatively...

Self adhesive measuring tapes Lidl from 20/0823

seems odd that they have the three different orientations (left, right, middle zero point), useful, but very easy to pick up the wrong one in store (my store I feel lucky if I can find one item, let alone a choice of three) Personally I'd like a bunch of small stick on rulers for screws and...

    How to make MDF/Fibreboard water-proof

As others (all?) have said MDF will never be waterproof, that said, you could seal any cut edges with several layers of exterior gloss, varnish etc which will slightly slow down the inevitable, I'd use whatever I could find or scrounge, it just isn't worth spending money on this stuff, use it up...

Clamping Funny Angles - for spaceships!!

as setch alluded to above, I'd go for a pva joint, but leave a couple of patches clear for some dabs of superglue, spray activator on the other half, put together and hold firm for a matter of seconds (though I tend to hold for closer to a minute), the superglue will clamp it together while the...

Evolution circ. saw with track or Mac plunge saw?

evolution run slower than standard as they are designed for multimaterial use, so you may struggle getting the cleanest of cuts. I have a evolution circular saw and a basic mitre saw, I wouldn't knock them for the price, but they are not fine woodwork tools, I'm never 100% confident of the...
