    odd?

I guess they choose the chemistry / cells to best suit the casing, more econimical to use the same casing for multiple capacities, thats what it looks like from the website, I notice the current generation has the 2 and 3 AH the same size and 4 and 5 the same. Also saw they have an 28v range...

Oversized plywood sheet for a corner desk

As per sachakins, I'd joint the top like a kitchen worktop, however I still think you need some additional structure below to prevent sag

Getting a Multitool - stick with DeWalt? Or get Milwaukee and a battery adapter?

I think the 3 speed might have less vibration, but wouldn't swear to it

Getting a Multitool - stick with DeWalt? Or get Milwaukee and a battery adapter?

as the dewalt multitool is £80 bare from toolstation at the moment I'd get that, I have the tool and think its pretty good, if very noisy, but at the current price if you don't like it you could sell it on in a couple of months time for pretty much what you paid

    18v tool brand choice

so no crossover between the stanley fatmax power tools and the dewalt, both owned by the same company? that seems inefficiant if nothing else. I thought they were the same batteries with a slight difference in the moulding, so you could use the same batteries if you sliced of a little bit of...

Trim Routers - What would you guys recommend ?

I'd just do a search of the archives here, the question has come up many times before, including very recently, I have a corded makita trimmer that I'm very happy with, but if you need a battery trimmer and have dewalt batteries I'd be very suprised if the one you link to does a bad job, though...

Severe wet rot problem on older 5x3 single garage. Is this salvageable?

from what I've understood from your description the problems are moisture being caused / held by the ground level and airflow on the outside, unless you are able to address that you can expect the same issues again in a couple of years time.

    18v tool brand choice

I've never used the three stage one, but I can see the benefit of it, sometimes when you just want a slow buzz and you are doing it all on the trigger it can be a little too easy to over squeeze and lose control of the cut, and if it does actually cut the vibration to any significant degree (and...

    18v tool brand choice

Having plumpted for dewalt I'd be tempted to consider adding in a multitool, currently £80 bare unit from toolstation, in their black friday deals, a great tool, if a bit noisey

    Where do I stick 'em?

I'd lean more towards the quarter points, my thinking is that everything in between the brackets has two points of support, whereas the ends have only one. obviously lots of variables like studs, and the load you are are putting on the shelf

    Trim Router

I've got the corded makita, not worked it very hard, but I've been happy with it, got a good price from ITS, at the time it wasn't masivelly more than the katsu, not quite as good a deal now https://its.co.uk/pd/RT0702CX4-Makita-RT0702-14-Router-Trimmer-_MAKRTO702CX4.htm

    Shortening a fence

not speaking for anyone else, but I always finds a horizontal handsaw cut tricky to get right, gravity isn't where it should be. I'd screw or clamp a guide rail and use whatever power saw you have, preferably with a fine tooth, pulling towards you
