    No Fault Evictions

My daughter's first rented room at Twickenham was awful. The whole house would have been an interesting study for the folk from Porton Down. The second and subsequent properties she has rented have been exemplary, and the landlords both as charming and helpful as the first one was a complete...

Potential sites for new mega-solar farms

I would certainly recommend the Richmond sausages, very tasty as is most of their stuff.

    No Fault Evictions

And your sources for this sweeping generalisation? Is there any particular reason that you are so convinced that the majority of landlords are evil people out to screw their tenants. Certainly not the case in my experience.

Nah, that's the unfinished paint job on Rishi's Air Rwanda plane.

Already quite a few farmers using bio methane fuelled tractors. Not zero emissions but a lot better than diesel. If your farm produces enough biomass then big cost savings as well.

    Joke Thread 4 (closed).

I remember watching some coverage from some warzone, where the correspondent from another channel dived out of shot in response to an explosion that was clearly some distance away. Over to the Beeb and Orla Guerin is reporting from inside the shell of a building. Couple of guys in the background...

Hot water low pressure effect on temperature.

Not a bad analogy as if you have a sealed system as most are now, the pressure is about the same in your car rad and your boiler, ballpark 1 bar.

Plus one for rabbits, easy to farm as they breed like, well, rabbits ! Very lean and flavoursome meat, certainly the wild grass fed variety. Don't even have to go to the shops, local farmer more than happy to see the back of them.

Potential sites for new mega-solar farms

It is interesting to note that China, arguably the world leader in battery EV, operates thousands of hydrogen fuel cell buses, and are the largest producer. They clearly don't see it as a dead end. The advantages are pretty obvious, greater range, less weight (HFC bus many tons lighter that a...

And many countries are forging ahead with massive investment in it, Spain and Brazil for example. I wouldn't base your view on a single, and in many respects inaccurate and or disingenuous presentation. For example the lady goes on about buses in Wiesbaden, certainly giving you the impression...

    M-Sure remote digital readout issue.

Also check the cable, some only have the wires for use as a charger, can't recall what the pin out is now. Just check continuity between the terminals at either end, will soon tell you if all are actually connected.

    M-Sure remote digital readout issue.

Did you ever sort this out? I have several M Sure remote head dro's, the type with no reader on the actual scale. Only time I have seen similar behaviour is when the batteries are on the way out, and I did have one that did it straight out of the box, with the battery that came with it. New...

No, mine are under the eaves. Never really noticed it before, mind you the mixer probably uses a fair bit more power that the hedge trimmers etc that are normally plugged into those sockets.

Potential sites for new mega-solar farms

Just down the road from us there are several huge warehouses that have just been built. They are all oriented broadly east-west, so have an enormous combined area of south facing roofs. Not a panel in sight. Obliging these sort of buildings to have panels, even if we have to subsidise the cost...

Stud finders - do any of them work?

A powerful rare earth magnet is good for finding plasterboard screws. Same method, just slide it about under your finger until it grabs. Then side to side and up and down to find more. I first tried this when the stud finder I had packed up and I had promised to mount a TV on my daughter's...

    Petrol Stations

That is interesting. I have waterproof sockets on the outside of my workshop for convenience when using mains stuff in the garden. Over the weekend I was using a cement mixer for most of the day, and I noticed that the plug was pretty warm when removed from the enclosed socket.

    Petrol Stations

I think the production is only really viable if it can be done using green energy. To do it any other way just gives you a benefit at the point of use, but at the expense of damage elsewhere that outweighs that benefit. As to transport and filling equipment it is all being done now on a small...

    Petrol Stations

The same article tells you that the output of these chargers is 600Kw ! Some big old cables and infrastructure upgrades necessary to have these. I would imagine if we go down that route then the solution will be the same as in China, big recharging stations with multiple chargers. It simply...

    Petrol Stations

I agree, to an extent. I am quite sure we should be making more use of the railways. But given the long term degredation of the rail network, and the fact that so much of our logistics are now based on road haulage I'm not sure how it would work. The biggest issue for me is that, as Jacob quite...
