    Trump tariffs & tool prices

They are very quick learners, to the extent that they seem to be able to quickly become major players, or dominate any sector they turn their hand to. And they have really upped their game quality wise. It only seems like a few years ago when much of their tools and other stuff was certainly...

ER 16 collet size range query.

Have to say I order mine from China on e bay. Very cheap and have never had one that was not very good quality. Massive variety of combinations of different MT and other tapers, as well as different sizes and lengths of straight shanks for any given collet holder. If you end up with a range of...

Concrete screws- use of -how to.

They are also good in that they don't expand so you can use them nearer to edges. Only caveat is the concrete has got to be good and solid, no use in crumbly stuff.

ER 16 collet size range query.

Is the chuck machined into the spindle, or could you just change it for a 20. Never a great idea to go outside the sizes intended to be used. That's why there is a range. I have sets from 8 to 32 for that very reason, on either MT or 3/4 straight shanks so they fit a capstan.

    Aluminium trailer cleaning

If you really want to protect it then a good idea to get some bilt hamber clear or similar and spray it into any overlaps. That's what we used to do on horse box floors to stop the very corrosive fluids getting into the seams. Amazing how much corrosion there can be under the covered edges of...

    Multico A1 - lubrication / maintenance

The rubber covers for car brake bleed nipples can be used to cover them. Personally I would change them for ball type so you can use a lock on gun with a flexible hose. Makes life a lot easier. And do check what is supposed to go into each one. Some machines will have nipples like this for oil...

Daft question about carpeting attic floorboards and heat loss

Not sure of the perceived problem here. I should clarify that only the loft floor is boarded. There is no insulation or covering below the roof, you look up at the breathable membrane directly under the tiles. Air circulation in the actual roof space through the eaves via ventilated soffits...

    Trump tariffs & tool prices

Looking at the state of our steel industry and many manufactured goods, especially electricals, I think your perfectly valid point is about ten years or more too late :-)

    Putin is a loser

I make her clear it out every year for the MOT. Been going to the same place for twenty odd years, don't see why they should have to kit up in full CBN warfare suit before opening the door :-)

    Whiskey cabinet for my brother

I like the chunky door pulls, proper design consideration, for when you have got a good way through one bottle and decide to try the other one. Don't want to be faffing about with some little bitty thing, need a handle you can see and get hold of when hand eye co-ordination may have become sub...

Daft question about carpeting attic floorboards and heat loss

Insulate it and you will see a big difference in the rooms below. On rare occasions I go in our loft in the winter going through the hatch is like climbing into a fridge, compared to the rooms below. Ours is boarded out with T&G chipboard with the space between the joists filled with rockwool...

    Aluminium trailer cleaning

Pete makes a good point about fluid remaining in any joints etc. probably best done in the summer when you can.leave it to dry in the sun If it gets nice and hot that tends to get rid of any lingering moisture.

    Putin is a loser

Oh she has one, as do the kids. I doubt any of them has actually used the things. Always check all the stuff on daughters car when she visits. On one occasion when one of her tyres was low I asked where the gauge I had bought her was. After rummaging through a mountain of student detritus...

    Putin is a loser

Yes done it several times. It persistently gives a low reading on the same wheel, when it is actually fine. Need to service it over the holiday so will replace the sensor and see if that does the trick.

    Putin is a loser

I did have a Niva for a while, and have to say it was actually pretty impressive :-)

    Putin is a loser

Oh I would happily leave it, but of course every time you start the damn thing it keeps saying the pressures are wrong. The laugh is that this really gets her going, but she has never actually checked the tyre pressures of any car she has ever owned !

    Putin is a loser

Seriously though I am with you. My missus mini has so much stuff, even variable mood lighting FFS, and keeps telling her the tyre pressures are wrong, when the gauge says otherwise. Going to have to replace a sensor I guess, she thinks I am trying to do her in making her drive about with dodgy...

Wow, you had Aircon in a CA. How very bourgeois :-)

    Putin is a loser

Not at all. And I have to say coming from you that really is quite funny. Have you really so little self awareness that you cannot see the hypocrisy of that observation? Happy to confine "delusional" it to people who quote stuff that is demonstrably incorrect, or engage in whataboutery based...

    Putin is a loser

Interesting that you choose to leave out certain bits of the article linked to. For example, this observation from the author. "I wouldn't depict the 1991 referendum as crimeans voting to restore their ties with Russia". Can't really see much point in continuing any debate with you. You are...
