It’s 800mm deep rather than the 718mm of a regular MFT/3 Roy, and it was fine before I put the slots in. Completely agree about things falling into the grooves - pencils are especially annoying, and cables can also snag on the edges.

Dust collection and cordless may be all it takes to make it better than those Roy, but noise is also an issue. For me I can take or leave the cordless aspect, but the dust collection and the noise were two deciding factors. The Festool was in the middle of the range of saws I looked at price-wise.

Was that the Garnica board? Lovely veneer, but paper thin! I agree, there just doesn’t seem to be the will to make a decent alternative with thin core plys and face veneers of a similar thickness. Haven’t seen blockboard since the 80s - that was a great board! 👍
