While I am psyching myself up for the carving I made good progress on the racks today. I got the unit glued up and the plinth attached along with the top. :D

I remember in our first home ripping off all of the hardboard from the doors, tearing down a badly built York stone fireplace and ripping the hardboard off all of the stair spindles that had been 'updated' in the 70's. :roll:

Got it sorted I just ordered a new set from Axminster £18 I assumed they would be much more expensive! Probably not much more than a re-grind. Thanks for the help guys.

I usually leave it a week too. It depends on my work load sometimes it is longer. I have also found them still giving off an odour after a week.

Been getting on well with the cabinet over the last couple of days. I have now got the door finished and am waiting for the hinges to arrive. In the meantime I shall be giving the unit a good sanding ready for a finish.

This has my usual finish Otto. Spray painted with Morrells 2K solvent based white in a 20% sheen. :wink:
