Kawasaki H2R production bike world record anyone?

That will be the track version of the H2 which is around 300 BHP! I think the road version is only 250 BHP, LOL....only 250! Got to admit modern bikes have to be the cheapest way to get the performance of a supercar. I have a 600 Hornet and that goes like a stabbed rat when you get heavy on the...

Nissan eNV200 (the fully electric van) review

After my experiences with battery drill/drivers I would never trust a battery powered car! Knowing my luck it would decide to give up the ghost in the centre lane of a motorway! The batteries aren't made by Makita are they?

    Behind the public image

Met David Jason at Crystal Palace dive show many moons ago, found him a nice chap. For all of you oldies I also met Hanns and Lotte Hass again at another diving show, very nice couple with lots of stories to tell. Robert Ballard of Titanic fame is another really nice guy to talk to too. Martha...

Did anyone watch Evans's "Top Gear?"

Yes not impressed here either. never did like Chris Evans and I haven't changed my opinion with this offering. Matt Le Blank on the other hand was very good and IMHO should have been the main host. Got to admit though I would watch anything with Sabine Schmitt in, she is great. Maybe just her...

    With some sadness

Well guys, it is with some sadness that I have to announce I am giving up the business. Work has been slow recently and after a fall from a ladder I jarred my back and had to have some time off. Money is tight and rather than delve into my pension I am getting a job again, light duties but not...

    The Tunnel sabotage???

Just been watching this series on TV and wondered why they made it? It is almost a scene by scene copy of the Bridge with the channel tunnel replacing the bridge! In the second series there is a scene that is very very similar to the Andre Breivik killing of students on the island in...

    Skoda Scout

Estate cars are getting smaller especially the Volvos. I have owned a fleet of them from the 240 upwards and the latest offering is a good 18" shorter. I loved the 740 estate I had years ago as it would take anything in the back. (Was a bit of a push for an 8x4 sheet) but when the 'V' series...

    Oak desk

The top splits as you can see from the drawing. There is a small bead detail on top of each pedestal which helps disguise the join and each of the end drawer fronts cover the join at each side. The base frame of the top locates over two wooden blocks which is a snug fit between the sides when...

    Oak desk

I got this finished the other day. My customer had seen a similar one I built and asked for this with provision for files in the two bottom drawers. He also wanted it transportable so the top and upper drawers are separate from the pedestals. It is made in AWO with a 2 pac clear finish. Drawer...

    Shooting

I used to be into shooting before Hungerford, full bore pistols and rifles but gave up after the aforementioned to avoid having my guns confiscated. During that time I did a little clay shooting and really enjoyed it. Only drawback was the cost compared to pistol and rifle shooting. I used to...

    AAAGRHHHH! Online grocery shopping rant!

I don't think it is my computer Mark as I am regularly ordering things online and have shopping baskets on a few sites I use for woodworking and the like. It seems to be whenever I try to buy from the supermarkets for my groceries?? Maybe the supermarket chains have me blacklisted or something...

Under Stairs Cupboard - Please Help

Hello Aidex, These are the runners I used: Accuride 9301 extra heavy duty runner, full extension. I only needed to use two on each pull out as they are very heavy duty (the box they were delivered in weighed a ton) They are larger than the standard drawer runners made of much thicker steel and...

    AAAGRHHHH! Online grocery shopping rant!

A friend of mine suggested online shopping for my groceries as it saves time for busy guys like ourselves. So with this in mind I thought last week I would try it. So on to Tesco's website and register for it....no...I tried 5 times to open an account but each time it wouldn't accept my chosen...
