    Double decker wardrobe

That looks a nice job. It is bad enough assembling wardrobes in a normal bedroom let alone building them on top of another! :o Bit that puzzles me is what in heavens name are they going to put in those top wardrobes!? I guess it is certainly making use of all available space.

mitre saw blades...neg or pos rake?

Neg rake blade for mitre saws. If you use a positive it will likely lift the work off the table. HTH.

    Canopy (Fitted)

Thanks guys. Well Monkeybiter, Those two curved pieces were made out of one piece of wood and no I didn't glue the band sawn bits back. I made a template out of some scrap MDF and used this to draw around. Then I cut the pieces on the band saw freehand finally sanding to the lines. As you will...

    Canopy (Fitted)

Yes, it can also a length of timber with positions marked on it. For this job the length of timber wouldn't have given me the angles.

    Canopy (Fitted)

Thanks Keith. With all the angles on this a rod is useful to ensure the angles can be marked out on the timber straight from the rod. I just used a sheet of MDF and drew out the full size template showing the intersection of all of the angles. it is then a simple matter of overlaying the wood...

    Canopy (Fitted)

Got on well today and started with some assembly of the top frame. Front assembled. With this out of the clamps I routed the detail into it. Then finally got the front and back assembled. I cut the posts to length and put the tennons on both ends. Then made a start on the gallows brackets...

    Cheap gazebo's......

I bought one of the pop up gazebos from Argos a few years ago for my chops saw etc. It was well made for the price (£65) and lasted me a number of years. I ended up selling it as it wasn't getting enough use once I got a van.

    More Makita mayhem!

I am sick of hearing the dreaded beep, four times so far. I am wondering if the earlier Li Ion batteries were of a better quality to the later ones? this would explain why some people who have older batteries have had no problems with them. :?

    More Makita mayhem!

I already have, I now have a De Walt one which so far is going strong. I still have a 9.6V Ni Cad Makita with one battery still going strong.....after 15 years! so I doubt very much it is me that is at fault. It seems to be these Makita's later batteries as I have had a 12V Ni Cad set go faulty...

    More Makita mayhem!

In the shop today using my Makita drill driver when I put it down on the bench only to find a couple of minutes later that it was smoking! I tore the battery off it and threw it out of the door as it was red hot! After all of the problems I have had with these drivers I shall be sending a strong...

    Built in drawers

Well Pete this is the first time I have used these in soft close and they seem to be ok'ish, read on. I got all of the drawer fronts finished ready for priming. I did have a lot of problems with the runners on the second unit and am still playing around with them. Strangely the top drawer is...
