It has a turning handle and the 1/2" square shaft would be excessive for a carving chisel. I will round the end a bit to prevent catching and give it a very cautious try. Thanks, I will sharpen it and see how it goes. It's 5mm thick at the centre so I don't think it's going to break in a hurry!
