    Thicknessing small pieces of wood

    You can add pallet wood edges to a sled, so that the edges are slightly higher than the stock and are always in contact with the rollers. They get planed away along with the stock. This also reduces the risk of snipe. But I agree, a sander would be preferable.

    Bit late, but I had the same saw, same problem. I had to send it back to Makita under warranty. It's now straight with the rails but the bevel stops are off by at least a degree. Wish I'd bought a Kapex
