    Router bits starting out

This. I spent today working with two Yonico router bits, a straight bottom bearing bit and a finger jointer. The straight bit is perfectly fine, but the finger jointer bit is positively dangerous.

    Woodwork eye protection safety glasses

I think to some extent it depends on what you're doing. This is a sobering read: http://lynneyamaguchi.com/Yamaguchi_SafetyMatters.pdf As a high prescription glasses wearer I've been quite pleased with these: https://amzn.eu/d/ebMmTNa They don't fog up as much as other goggles I've had. They...

Lidl PPTSA 20V-Li cordless plunge track saw. Quick review.

Thanks for the comprehensive review, very interesting. How's the dust extraction on this saw? The one thing that I really like about the battery powered Festool (TSC55) is that it barely needs a vac attached. Just the bundled bag seems to catch most of what it produces.

    Bandsaw advice

If you can, go see them in person. Yandles has a good selection, Record Power, Laguna and Charnwood, although not many people on this forum seem to rate Charnwood. Scott and Sargeant another good option. You might also look at the second hand market, lots on Gumtree or eBay. Other brands...

    LVLP spray gun and compressor?

I'm really hoping that's a typo and you don't have a generic infestation of freshwater fish... 😀

    Which bandsaw for hobbyist

+1 for Record Power. Check the maximum depth of cut if you're resawing. A larger machine will generally give you more options. As others have said, the second hand market is worth exploring to get something well made, more power, bigger wheels, wider blade (at an appropriate tension) etc.

    LVLP spray gun and compressor?

Yep, I do have a regulator and at the right pressure. Thanks for the info on the nozzle size, I think 1.2mm is the largest nozzle you can get for the R160 unfortunately. I diluted about 5:1 but didn't filter the paint, which probably didn't help. I'm a bit reluctant to upgrade the compressor...

    LVLP spray gun and compressor?

I'd assumed it was my compressor that wasn't up to it, but guess there are other factors too. Did you go for the 1.2 mm nozzle size? Wondering if one of the knowledgeable folks on this forum could advise what the different nozzle sizes are best for?

Mitre saw station build. Advice please.

Instead of using sheet materials for the frame you could also use good old 2x4. Pocket hole screws will work well on that, plus if you don't use any glue you can disassemble the whole thing when you move. I've made my benches out of that, with an MFT, a router table and a mitre saw as...

Be interested to know how you get on if you do decide to match it up to an ANI gun. Good luck!

    Record Power Sabre 450

Fair play to you for getting it on a skateboard. Mine arrived yesterday and it took 3 of us to get it down the steps, and we broke the sack barrow (allegedly rated for 200Kg) in the process. However now it's installed and working I'm very pleased with it. Even the supplied blade seems to be ok...

    LVLP spray gun and compressor?

Can't say I've tried a car panel. I've not used mine much but I did spray some doors with acrylic primer. It was a painful process as the compressor was too small, I needed to pause every 20 seconds to let it repressurise, hence the suggestion to go for a larger unit. However the results were...

    LVLP spray gun and compressor?

https://www.spraygunsdirect.co.uk/product/a-n-i-r160-q-spray-gun-hps-gravity/ Officially needs only 4.2 CFM but I'd recommend at least a 50l compressor. I have the 24l Hyundai and it's not quite enough to push anything above water consistency.

    Electric/small/portable air compressor

I've got the 24l version which is very good, however the lead on it is stupidly short. Good for a brad nailer, air blower but not enough for spraying. Maybe the next thing to upgrade....

    Armoured cable supplier?

+1 for TLC Direct. They'll cut SWA to length for you - £6.62 per m or £300 for 50m. They also have a useful voltage drop calculator on their website. Terminating SWA is a PITA though, without the right tools. YT has some good videos. If you're doing anything of complexity I'd get a friendly...

Planning to make a 12x24ft workshop in my garden on blocks and seeking feedback on current plan

What are the concrete blocks standing on/in? Depending on the load and vibrations they're likely to subside. You should also think about the internal loading - do you have any heavy equipment going in?
