Some progress has been made after I sent another email based on what Richard_C advised to do—thank you Richard! I’ll wait for their response and then take it from there. They were happy to go with invoicing me for repairs without questioning the manufacturer. As said by MikeJhn don’t give up!

I’m not going to be buying anything from Jura. They are slow to respond and you have to keep chasing them.

They did send an email in June when I contacted them to check what was happening. This is their reply… I never heard anything after that until yesterday.

Yes it does ding easily. I know how they were caused and that was within a few months of owning the watch. The date mechanism still worked after that. I’m definitely going for a Seiko or a Citizen Eco-Drive.

That’s how it should be. I would completely own up if I damaged it. I damaged a Festool tool recently. It was only a couple of months old. I contacted Festool and asked if I could purchase the damaged part. They sent me a new one without charge.

Quartz maybe the way forward for me.
