MFT hinge system storage or not

Hello, There is a very simple answer, some of the fittings require fastening from below so you have to lift the table top to access them to fit. It is very annoying to have screwed the worktop to the frame because you soon realise this is a mistake. The storage box for fittings is great but it...

Should I buy a spindle moulder rather than router table??

Hello, I can recommend the compact Trend router table that sits either on your workbench or somewhere else like a workmate. Very easy to use and takes up little space. I can take it outside for big jobs such as trimming some iroko planks and use some stands to support the timber. Spindle...

    Rust Remover for Tool Restoration

Hello One has to remove the rust, and get back to bare metal before applying a preventative treatment. Sometimes sand or grit blasting is the only way to go. You might find someone nearby who specialises in grit blasting and they could do it for you. I have had this done prior to galvanising...

    Decline in Valued Contributors???

Hello, I would like to suggest that the reason for this is the increase in very annoying pop up adverts which are getting worse and bad enough to drive anyone away. Just writing this I have had to shut down three video ads and like a lot of others I will be looking for somewhere else without...

    Reccomend me a whetstone/sharpening setup under £50

Hello, For many years I just used an Eclipse 36 honing guide for all my chisels and plane blades. It works to a razor. The stone is double sided in a wooden box. You can get the honing guide from someone like Oldhandtools even the stones. It might take a bit longer than but the edge is good. Regards

    Pillar drill recommendations

Hello, Could be good, Startrite is a good builder, much better than a foreign maker. Condition is all that matters, if it is in good condition can you expect something better for the money. I would have thought anything less is going to mean a rebuild, in which case you would be better to buy...

    Pillar drill recommendations

Hello, I replaced a Far East pillar drill with a Meddings, from worst to best tool. Searched and found a MB2 model, one owner from new. Incredibly heavy.
