For Sale Dakota Mobile Base for workshop machines

Just out of interest what was the response to Jester129's question RE dismantling for postage?

    Fraud?

Since they're offering a non-UK available DW735 planer for £163 none of it is likely to be legit.

Safety help - Dewalt 7485 table saw

I don't have your saw but upon looking at an exploded parts diagram online it appears to match to part number 3 quite well (just below the insert plate): https://www.sparepartsworld.co.uk/product/SPARE_DWE7485-GB%2FTYPE_3

How to cut box slots for splines on a box without a table saw?

+1 for using a biscuit jointer to do this several times before I figured it was worth making my own version of the Rockler router table spline jig.

    e scooters

I've seen the story that's linked to the original post repeated a number of times in the last few days. Quite how you can bring legal action against something/someone whilst not obeying the law is ridiculous beyond words. If anything the woman in question should come away from this with zero...

    Biscuit Joiner or Dowels

Get a jig - the money you would save could be put towards something else. Besides which the Triton machine has mixed reviews around the internet.

    Danger zone

All I can say in response to that video is I hope none of them reproduce.

    Maybe Google really is watching....

Someone I used to work with believed that if you searched the term "Google" in Google it would make it crash, if only that were true...

    Pallet Wood

No need to go through the effort of breaking up a pallet - just attach four castors to the underside and flog it as a rustic coffee table for £50.

    witch Budget Biscuit Jointer ???

My first biscuit jointer was a Clarke but I binned it after the fence kept slipping when in use, I replaced it with a second-hand Freud which is great even though it only gets occasional use now.

    Dado set

From someone who a few years ago had a table saw that was capable of accepting a dado set and eventually buying one from the States, I soon found it to be too time consuming to keep swapping out the blades, setting it all up etc. when a router and a simple jig could do an equally good job...

Why don’t they sell fixed base routers in UK?

Realistically the options for fixed base routers that can accept 1/2" bits are mostly limited to the Bosch GOF1600CE but that one is pretty pricey if you can find any in stock. Other makes/models only occasionally appear on the second hand market so you could be waiting a while. If you really...

Is there a retailer carrying Jet JWP-12L (2022 model) thicknesser in the UK

If you've ever taken the belt covers off a floor standing PT you get an idea on what's involved in respect to the gearing to get the cutterhead to the right RPM, the feed rollers etc. so for a benchtop machine it just wouldn't be practical.

    Never lose a pencil again

Yes I find mechanical pencils to be the most useful, a lot people appear to overlook them for some reason.

Is there a retailer carrying Jet JWP-12L (2022 model) thicknesser in the UK

It does have a brush motor as can be seen in a few YouTube videos available, so anyone expecting a quiet machine may be disappointed.

    Bench Thicknesser

You may be pushed to find one as all the ones I've seen only use two straight knives. Generally speaking I'm not really sure why we don't have more of a choice of woodworking machines in this country, feels like a missed opportunity to me but there may be a perfectly reasonable explanation.

New Banggood Router Top - Great value?

No comment about the quality but the dimensions put me off. The "table" is only 240 x 200m in size which is way too small for anything I would consider practical at least for my purposes.

He is fully deserving of some of the comments that have been made on that video.

    Axminster nailer connector to airline

The connector doesn't look to be a Euro fitting so you may need something like this with the appropriate male/female thread: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Fitting-Connector-Quick-Release-Thread/dp/B00J9J6624/ref=sr_1_39?keywords=Airline+Fittings&qid=1656442440&sr=8-39

    Bargain planer

LOL at "would make a nice industrial style coffee table etc" part. I don't know the make but Matt at the Badger Workshop did a restoration video series about a year ago with one that doesn't look a million miles different to that one.
