Aldi has budget Woodworking gear on sale again.

Well there isn't an Aldi locally to me - the closest one is 12 miles away but I'll be making a trip Saturday morning to see what I can find. Thanks for the heads-up.

Joining and fixing 1.5mm polycarbonate (Thien top-hat wall)

When I built my Thien separator I used hot glue to bond the plastic I was using (1mm PETG), admittedly it was a bit bigger in diameter at around 450mm but it worked very well. All I did was route out a groove around 3mm deep, put a few dabs in and after ran a bead around the perimeter to get a...

    Which of these two compressors?

Whilst I cant say with any certainty on what all of the jargon is, what it corresponds to, how it compares etc. my opinion is that the Bostitch's LWA and the Metabo's LPA would be more in line with the noise levels I'd expect from air compressors of this type. So a difference a 6dB... hardly...

    Another Festool ebay bargain

I think i'll pass but based on how much effort was put into writing the description - Bob's is so much better.

    looking for a bandsaw

Hi H & N, I have this model and have done for almost a year now, initially I didn't see myself doing much bandsaw work and was more geared towards having something to hand when needed. It isn't exactly a low-end entry model with a cast iron table but it ticked the boxes so rather than spend...

    Technological game changers

Whilst maybe not a game changer I personally never get tired of Sky+, makes life easy on recording, rewinding live tv, series link... that little box is a technological miracle!

Don't buy this.... it really is rubbish

One of the more honest item descriptions I've seen in a while, almost tempted to place a bid out of pity...

New series of NYW on Shed

Don't get me wrong about Norm - If I had 1/10th of the skill he has I'd be doing pretty well, and as for that workshop… Youtube has been pretty good at supplying previous episodes as well as the whole of this series, my point of the 5yr gap was that Discovery used to be pretty quick at picking...

    Fettling an Axminster TS-200 Tablesaw

I am interested to get some opinions on the below. I am in the process of designing my table saw station for a TS200 and was considering ideas on how much width of cut using the fence I could get away with. At the moment I have the whole thing set up except for the sliding table but recently...

sip 01344 planer blads and dust hood

I have the exact same machine - once set up properly you want be disappointed. I got mine second hand last year and needed to add a blade guard as well as a few other plastic bits and screws for it - I got them all from the powertoolspares website (search for model number HC260 which is the...

Aldi offers - Thursday 14th. Air compressor and tools

I have previously owned a nailer that looked similar to this one - based on my experiences with it I'd say think twice about spending a bit more to get something better. The one I had was constantly jamming and had a habit of firing nails at inconsistant depths no matter what the compressor was...

    Axminster Hobby

I wonder if they've done this to help people who want to get started in woodworking in respect of helping them identify which machines may be suitable for them if product knowledge is a barrier for example :? On the flip side they seem to be selling off the "non-hobby" equivalents for around...
