    Interesting site

Scrimper, having read the above I looked at your site and saw your section on the Lord's Prayer. For your (or anyone's) interest, there is an example of this in the Scottish Fisheries Museum in Anstruther. I saw it last year and was seriously impressed. I don't have any details of the person...

    Charnwood Scroll Saws

I bought the SS16F as my first scroll saw based on it having a foot switch (excellent) and a light (not effective at all). Once I started doing internal cuts it became frustrating as many others report too. I got round that by getting the Pozsgai EZ blade holder system as I fortunately have a...

    Interior drill holes

I use the mini pillar drill from Proxxon after trying the Dremel drill stand which was not well built and repeatedly taking the Dremel out and putting it back in caused excessive wear and tear. Hope this helps, Eric

    Deadman Foot Switches

Again, thanks everyone for your input. We are now talking about stuff I have no competence in, but I think I can interpret PUWER to mean “don’t touch”. So I won’t.

    Deadman Foot Switches

Thanks for the responses so far, it looks like a non-starter for this or other saws if I read it correctly. Thanks!

    Deadman Foot Switches

I am not so slowly getting sucked into buying a new scroll saw with the Lumberjack SS533V in poll position. It does not come with a foot switch, something that I find so useful. So does anyone have an idea about deadman foot switches that would work with this? I also would like suggestions of...

Scheppach Deco SL Scroll Saw after market blade clamp?

I have a Charnwood 16F and last year bought the EZ blade holder set from Frank Pozsgai pozsgaidesigns.com which should work on the Deco SL. He states that the system works on the Deco 405. Unfortunately he is based in US and does not do international deliveries but I was fortunate as I have a...

Choosing a scroll-saw. Why pay more? the answer is here.

I decided to buy a Scrollsaw in October and like many I didn’t wasn’t to spend too much at the start in case the hobby was not for me. I bought a Charnwood 16F because it had a foot pedal which I believe is really important. The other selling point was that it also had a light which I thought...

    Scroll saw and laser cutter

I personally dislike the burnt edge you get from a laser, the scroll saw if used correctly does not suffer this. Eric

    Baltic Birch

Thanks for getting back to me quickly. I am scroll sawing a clock and baltic birch is recommended.

    Baltic Birch

I am wanting to order some baltic birch plywood for a project but I am not sure what the designation would be for this. Is this BB/BB that I have seen on one site or am I getting this wrong. Thanks for any assistance here! Eric

    Marquetry inlay

I used to enjoy doing marquetry 30+ years ago before life got in the way, and was looking at trying again in retirement but I can’t find any kits that inspire me. There are kits out there if you do a search on the internet or the usual places, but they all appear simplistic to what was around...

    Wood for scroll saw projects

Can anyone suggest a good UK source for buying the relatively small amounts of wood needed for projects please? I am currently just setting up and learning the basics of scrolling using pine offcuts from joinery but hopefully will start doing some more serious work soon. Thanks in advance.
