    courrier for large machinery

Though my SCM was fork lifted into my VW Transporter, I unloaded it single handed. These things can be done easily and safely, with some thought.

FC Tools fc32 rail plunge jig

Does anybody have the FC Tools fc32 rail plunge jig? I have one of Frank’s MK V rail squares and a repetitive stop, for my Mafell rails, so I know the quality of product; I’ve no doubt that the fc32 jig is worth £85, in terms of cost of manufacture. But I’m struggling to justify buying one...

    A trusted source: hammer handles?

I would tend to agree, however as I said above, whilst I am able to make one, my time is short, and I would rather use it on existing projects/tasks

    A trusted source: hammer handles?

Yes, it’s hickory that I’m looking at. I could make them, of course. But I’d rather spend the time working on the numerous projects already underway. Looking at the grain is a good start, in theory. But the images presented tend to be rather generic, even if they’re. Is sufficient resolution to...

    A trusted source: hammer handles?

I’ve a few hammers in need of new handles. Naturally, I’ve cast my eyes over what the internet can offer, but I’m hoping for a steer toward a trusted source of good quality items. One of the handles I need is an 18” one for my framing hammer; the only one I’ve found is a stiletto replacement...

Wanted Brush Cutter (Regarding my previous topic: 'Strimmer')

If I we’re buying now, I’d get one of the Makita battery powered ones, as I have the batteries already. However I’ve been very happy with my Husqvarna petrol brush cutter. It’s made short work of everything I’ve thrown at it. It’s in need of a tune up now, but it has always run well. I’m going...

Charnwood W629 Table saw? 2 buy or not 2 buy.

Which begs the question, why not buy a something that is of proven, lasting quality, such as a Startrite 275!

    Sedgwick PT255

Should anyone be reading this, with a view to choosing a P/T with the ability to cut rebates, my Dominion ES (12x7”) also has this feature.

Squaring wood sheet that’s un square on all sides

Though it is still reliant upon the accuracy with which the geometry is transferred to the material; the straightness of an edge, the thickness of a pencil line…

It’s that sometimes vital few inches that I use ratchet straps for. No more than that.

Yes, ratchet cargo straps. You’ll need some anyway, to secure it in the van.

    Sedgwick PT255

Yes, that’s what I used to load and unload my Dominion. It can take a bit of tooling and froing, to get the machine high enough and far enough into the vehicle, but it’s not difficult. My lift came with a spreader bar, which makes the rigging a little easier. Also, by using sufficiently strong...

The Rolls Royce of Jigsaws? Mafell P1cc

Another P1cc owner here, but even so… If one’s square if of unknown accuracy, how can one even begin to understand why a cut appears not to be square, never mind a portion blame?

    Sedgwick PT255

Moving it much depends upon your physical capacities and ingenuity! You must of course consider both loading and unloading. I’ve moved many machines, including a P/T of about the same weight, and my current one which is 500kg, by myself. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend that! But needs must…...

Startrite 275 table saw question - Newbie

If you can’t get or make the rollers, I’d suggest trying to find a home for the extended bar; I’ve often come across orphaned bits for these (and other) saws, and I’ve come across people searching for the bits! Indeed, I might have the standard bars for that saw, somewhere.
