Looking for a Morticer, advice please

My former local tool dealer was a Charnwood stockist, so I’ve had a poke at several of their machines. I doubt I’d even take one free of charge! The Multico offered would be a far better tool than the Charnwood.

Looking for a Morticer, advice please

I picked up a lightly used Delta mortiser, for a very keen price. It’s an excellent little machine. I later found out that Rob Cosman uses the same one; he did a good video on it, which will show you what it’s capable of.

    Lease car for new company

There are good tax incentives for electric company cars, so that might be worth exploring with your accountant, along with whether this will be a company car etc

Are there any Bowyers or fellow fletchers on UKW ?

I’m neither, but my nephew aspires to be! I recently picked up a simple bow from a charity shop, which I intend stringing for him, then helping him to make some arrows. He lives in Norfolk, whilst I’m in Cheshire, and work all over the world, so it may be more a case of me making shafts, buying...

Opening a Workshop in 2 years - Advice needed.

If what I produced demanded machinery this size, from the off, I would seriously consider used machines; full size sliding saws can be particularly bargains, if you’re prepared to handle the logistics of moving one, but the same goes for other large machines. I make things for pleasure, but my...

iTech dust extractor 3hp excellent price

Single phase is standard in UK homes; 3 phase can be installed alongside, or a phase converter used, at additional cost. So for someone already set up, in some way, to run 3ph equipment, and is local, that is indeed a low cost extractor.

    Cobalt HSS Drill Bit recommendations

I’ve used the Toolpak ones, available at Toolstation. I chose those simply for their immediate availability on a Saturday afternoon. But I’ve found them to be very good.

    Essential first aid items.

This is contrary to my training as a medic technician (last renewed 18 months ago); a tourniquet should only be released or removed once the casualty has reached hospital. It’s a life saving device, used where blood loss can not otherwise be controlled, and so any damage which may be caused...

    Essential first aid items.

A lot depends upon what you’re doing. Generally, yes, a workshop will have sharp stuff. But not everyone will have potential for burns. In the realm of sticking plasters, I really wouldn’t worry too much; in the event that one is needed, you’ve time to stop everything, walk back to the kitchen...

    Startrite Table saw buying advice

Not all parts are proprietary. The universal joints, in particular, are better sourced elsewhere; for half the price of an original, I got a better quality replacement from RS. Deema makes a typically comprehensive summary of what to look for. However, I wouldn’t be as quick as he, to walk...

    Khan's ULEZ scam >road charging

What exactly is the scam? How does it work? Do you have a link to the stats that show that 95% of the world burn garbage and animal dung to cook and keep warm?
