    Buying from Europe

Sorry but, our nationality may be UK, but ethnically we are Europeans whether anyone likes it or not. Whether we should be in the EU is always going to be a matter of opinion - I think we should be in - however I do recognise other’s preferences. All the post brexit chaos was predicted, but...

Hello from Scotland [and perhaps soon to be Australia !]

Hi, I’m in Edinburgh (Scotland), good luck on the move! If you plan to sell off equipment I’m looking for a bobbin sander like this one - but I can’t afford a new one - wonder if you have such a thing

    Table saw views….

I’ve just bought a DeWalt 7485 site table saw - reason being the excellent (and stable, no flex ) fence. It is meant as a site saw, but by building a cart with in and out feed tables, it becomes and excellent saw for the workshop (110 or 240v single phase). The fence also extends to just over...

Floor to ceiling doors - how to?

Why not build as per a kitchen unit - with a 20mm raised floor (flat horizontal panel covering the whole floor) inside the units for the doors to close against at the bottom ?

    EBay info

Morning I’m looking for some info (that I can’t find on eBay) I sold a big Esse cast iron cooker on eBay (collection only) . I listed it as £x or best offer, and I got a best offer which I accepted. I immediately got cash payment via PayPal which “cleared” a couple of days later, and...

Post a photo of the last thing you made

Not done this week, but outdoor projects over the past few months. A gazebo for my Chinese garden. A big screen planter for a friend, and a gate/door to the secret garden (still to be painted).

    11mm dado over 5m. 40 times.

PS, the longest length I’ve successfully cut is about 3m. 5m to my mind is a big ask - I think I’d just buy the I beams ready made!

    11mm dado over 5m. 40 times.

I’ve done this many times to create 12 to 16 mm wide slots (10mm deep) centred on 45x45 timbers. Their use was to create framing to enclose weatherboard/cladding, to produce decorative panels for garden structures like gazebos . My first solution was 2 full length cuts with a table saw then...

DeWalt table saw from Workinger Ltd - anyone heard of this seller?

I don’t need on advice on what to buy cos I’ve researched it carefully, and this is t my first table saw!!! As for cost, US prices are much more reasonable, and whilst FFX price isn’t that much more than this - they also charge for delivery…,.

DeWalt table saw from Workinger Ltd - anyone heard of this seller?

Well we will see, order confirmation received same day, second day shipping / delivery info received- 7-9 days. If it is a scam (even after getting the money) they are still going to a fair bit of trouble. If it isn’t, then they should get some credit for much better pricing than the...

    Pergola build by a newbie

I’d just sit it on top of the slab, once the roof etc is on it will be heavy enough to stay put. I made this and it stands on loose laid slabs - and it’s been fine for 3 years
