    Linisher buying advice

I have 3 non standard belt machines, the biggest 1900x1200 and have to have belts made for them, minimum order 10 per grit £35 each, so I would pick one with an off the shelf available belt size

    New Large Slab Levelling/Milling Table

Just a thought, we flatten slabs routinely with a 3000x2000 cnc router with a 63mm tipped cutter which works really well. I'm noyt touting for business but I suggest that you may have a local equivalent who can do the work normally around 60 a slab both sides, which is ready for sanding with 120...

Getting a Multitool - stick with DeWalt? Or get Milwaukee and a battery adapter?

Fein cordless is the way to go, I've had iterations of this tool for 30 years, the first still works but the blade is clamped through a round hole with an Alan bolt so can rotate. The latest one (we've got 3) has a great lever quick release system which grabs the cutter

    Trim Router

Makita 18v cordless, bought to replace bosch, which was brilliant, I looked at a dewalt but wasn't impressed with the build quality so bought the makita with plunge dbas and a small trim Base as well. I 3d printed an adapter for the saw rail and am stunned at how well it performed doing v...

I too bought one but as a kickstarter beta tester it gave great service til I tried metallic filament in a new hard head. Never worked properly again so I bought another from marketplace which was just as good. Then I saw the newly released creality k1 max and bought it on a whim. It's...

    Permanent thread lock

This looks like a windscreen wiper motor. There is generally an arm bolted onto it. As a starting point: you could bend that into a U shape and then weld or jb weld a boss with a grubscrew/key way etc to suite your input shaft. Using the epoxy would be easier to get concentric If you haven't got...

    Which Glue Gun To Buy

There is a cordless glue gun on amazon which uses dewalt batteries and is fantastic. It heats up quicker than my corded ones, a bit heavier but just an excellent tool for £25

    Which sanding discs?

Abranet gets my vote because it's lasts a long time and doesn't clog up which I think is a lot to do with the extraction being through the disk, we've used from 40 grit which is savage up to 600 which seemed a bit pointless. I am using the old low voltage mirka electric sander and extraction unit

    Bay window repair, exterior sill

Repair care is the way to go, we use a metabo die grinder with a tungsten ball end cutte around 10mm I thing, you just let this eat at the rot, when it gets to solid wood it stops cutting so rapidly. Its a bit daunting but isnt too skilled a job. You then "replace " everything moved with the...
