    Which Noise cancelling ear defenders?

MPOW for me also. I use them in the garage to drown out the saw and router. Got them connect to my Alexa so I can listen to music while doing it. Usually I just use them as normal without the sound cancelling function switched on as they do a good enough job

    Today’s lesson “NEVER POINT”

Did that with the tablesaw, it was covered in saw dust and I even plastered it with Star Wars stickers (yes I’m sad) to make it look like my other stuff. Just forgot about the very clean jig.

    Today’s lesson “NEVER POINT”

My good lady walked into my garage today and straight away said “Is that a new tool” Yes it was and I was caught red handed with it out on display, I knew this day would come so I just said “yes, had it over a month now” HAD I stopped at that point all would have been well but no, I had to...

Post a photo of the last thing you made

We had some well used garden furniture that had seen better days. Wife wanted to chuck it all after the table gave way. I managed to reclaim the legs and a few slats. Got a chair that I’ve just dismantled to put back together with new dowels and some strong glue/resin. Going to get another few...

Post a photo of the last thing you made

Oh I like the idea of a contrasting colour. I’ve got the plug cutter and a pile of teak wood that my wife was going to throw out. Will see if I can get some from that. Cheers

Post a photo of the last thing you made

Back with some more chairs. better than the last ones I made. Used pocket holes to screw things together, just need to plug ,sand and paint them. This was my first attempt at an angled back. Really need to improve my bandsaw skills. My straight lines are shocking 😂 With pocket holes I was going...

    Measurements not measuring up

Question. I have a handful of tape measures, rulers etc that I use, I can swap between two or three of them during a project depending on my memory (where did I put that???) and the space that I am measuring in. was setting up a cut on my table saw sledge yesterday and used an old metal ruler...

    Quick Poll

I’m glad you said that, I had thought about using it but wasn’t sure how good it would be. Any good for holding French cleats?

Suggestions for budget £70 cordless drill and accessory drill bits

My vote also, I bought the 12v bundle ages ago, been good so far with me, I do wish I had waited for the 18v as everything seems to be 18v now when it comes to spares.

Mystery pipe - what to do?

Yeah, never trust what is on the map. I bought a house that had been empty for 6 years, the deeds showed the main sewage line that we were connected to also continued up under our garage and into the new estate next to us. We had been in two weeks and it happened, sewage was coming back through...

Chicken/Egg situation. Need a workbench to make a workbench

That’s exactly what I thought when I read the original post. With regards to push sticks, Do people still buy them or just use off cuts? I got a plastic push stick that came with a table saw, used it a few times at the start but didn’t like getting hard plastic so close to the blade, I now use...

Really annoyed myself believing **** online

Thank you for the feedback. I really lost my mojo about it, but after reading the comments I’ve gone back in to work on its brother. I have already looked at other plans and going to build some smaller chairs. Again thank you

Really annoyed myself believing **** online

Apart from the small room at the back, it is actually not too bad to sit on.

Really annoyed myself believing **** online

Sorry, bit of a rant at myself. So I needed some cheap chairs for the garden, spent a while searching google and came across a lot of “2x4 make great cheap chairs/benches) Thought great, 2x4 are cheap cough, and jumped in with both feet, only got a small car so ordered it from Wickes, Wood...

Sharpening chisels for a complete novice

I started my sharpening with three different grits of sandpaper. Think 120, 240, 600 or something like that. Got some really good results using that and a guide. I since bought some very cheap Diamond plates and have been very disappointed with them (but I sort of expected to be) One thing I...

    Another Joke

What’s green, has four legs, 22 balls and if it fell out of a tree into you, it would kill you? A snooker table.

    Another Joke

Following on from the “what do you call a man with ....” jokes, if already covered then sorry. What do you call a man with a seagull on his head? Cliff. What do you call a man with a car on his head? Jack.

    Lidl doing LED battens

I went with the wife to Lidl and saw a stack of them, couldn’t buy them as my garage already has TWO light bulbs !! so went back the next morning and they had all gone ☹️ So now I’m just running two 5m strips of leds across the ceiling. Just waiting on another LED driver to arrive as the small...
