Hello Gents, On the rare occasion that I finish a piece of furniture I have the thought to sign it somehow but am not sure how & wondered if you did it & how you do it? I love looking at old furniture & finding something that shows who made it & when is a real thrill (I know I should get out...

That is a kind offer..but I was kinda set on Sorby's (for some egotistical reason probably) - are Marples as good as Sorby's? I'll bow to your superior knowledge & take you up on your offer if you say that they are.

Chisels & chiselling - questions, questions

Hi Kirkpoore1, I like to octagonal ones as they have the double hoop which seems a better idea for all round work & things do have a habit of rolling off my bench.. I have a set of cheapo Stanleys which get abused for all sorts of non chisel work..hence my neeed to get some gooduns. I can keep...

    HUGE Gloat...mixed with sadness......

No error TOG...click the picture and scroll down for more info in English! It comes as no surprise that my poor attempt at humour went unnoticed.. What a shame it is to hear that Klaus is reacting so badly to sawdust - life really is a trial (now that was not another attemp at humour).

Hi Pete, I'd love to start making my own tools..& a mallet is a good place to start. By BFOO do you mean both in size & weight? I've not heard of Hawthorn being used for anything before..& if it's the thing to use I'd gladly take you up on your kind offer. How much would the P&P be? What...

Chisels & chiselling - questions, questions

Hi Pete, They look in good nick n nice & solid ..but I see they do not have a ferrule /hoop on the impact end of handle yet show no sign of damage. (This might show up my lack of experience but) I'd expect the wider ones to be used for harder joinery & therefore would've recieved harder blows...
